Interesting that Kaleo debuts this week when they are below the Top 40 on Mediabase. I guess they will fall off the chart within 1-2 weeks.

This week's chart moves are fairly modest for the most part, with 6 notches being the biggest move up or down (and three songs go up that much.) Tied for the second biggest jump, though, is all the way up from 6 to 2 for "Shape of You". It should probably be #1 next week, and from MB my guess is it stays there for at least three weeks.

"Cheap Thrills" has been on for 43 weeks (5 were at #1, last August/September) and I'm trying to remember the last time anything stayed on so long. The last I can recall was "Can't Hold Us", which also had 43 weeks on AT40, the last in February 2014. Anything longer since? Didn't think that "Chained To the Rhythm" would come in at #40, but that it would debut higher if later. Expect a big jump over the next couple of weeks, which would instantly make it Katy's biggest hit since 2014.

Yeah, I forgot about that; I just checked and "Stitches" was on for that long, falling out in May 2016. Don't think "Cheap Thrills" will match or exceed that, though it's possible.

I think it will because it could go 36-37 or 38-39 or 40 before falling off.

^Reminded me of the slow descent of "One Dance" on Rick Dees chart. From Oct. 22 till Feb. 18, it fell exactly one notch every week, hitting every rung in the 30s on its way down.

Chained to the Rhythm is starting to stabilize, but it is still a much bigger hit than "This is How We Do" and "Rise".

Very interesting observation. I checked the archive and One Dance fell from 21 to 40 and hit every position except #24.
