I'm not sure "SOY" is ever going to fall at radio.

The Cure gets released to pop radio on the 24th.The song is still #1 on iTunes, so I predict maybe a Top 20 debut. If airplay picks up by next week, I could see it jumping into the Top 10. If it doesn't drop like a rock on sales, of course.

Katy Perry did all out promo for that song, performance on every major awards show but just didn't click especially Spotify which is the #1 a song needs to excel on these days to chart well
Will she have a new "first single" and relegate Chain to the Rhythm as "buzz" single?

^^^The album was never meant to be launched off CTTR; HITS reported that the launch would be in Summer the first week that it was out.

^^^Not really, she all but bluntly said it was part of the album. It's still a lead single, it's just not having the album launched off its back. Your post just sounds like its fishing for theories.

So there's a chance CTTR will not be in the album like Ariana Grande's Focus Focus was supposed to be the lead single, but once it flopped, it was taken out of Dangerous Woman.

A few days later than expected, but finally. Lust for Life by Lana del Rey featuring The Weeknd is currently #7. Paramore's Hard Times at #22.

I think it's an interesting case to discuss especially what her next move is since the song is already declining on the chart. For the record, I grew to like the song and was hoping it will be able to turn things around and return to the top 10 but it's not happening anymore

In another twist, the new Shawn Mendes song is #1 in iTunes. So the tracking week started with Something Just Like This at #1, then HUMBLE., That's What I Like, The Cure, Stay and now There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back. Can somebody remember a week were so many songs held #1 in iTunes?

Can somebody remember a week were so many songs held #1 in iTunes? With sales down, shifts at #1 becoming more frequent seems normal to me. It doesn't take as much to be #1 anymore. This leaves the door open for the new, fresh songs that come out to spend time at #1. Streaming however isn't quite as volatile.

How is Slide by Harris not bigger. Great song. It's taking it's time but it's increasing on all metrics at a nice rate. It should beat it's #34 peak this week.

I see streaming as the second most volatile component of the Hot 100, because gains can come very quickly and is the basis for success for albums that don't sell as much singles from them. The least volatile one is radio since very few songs can attain huge gains week in and out.

So different from the 80s, when airplay was the metric with the fastest pace and volatility.

Speaking of, "Shape of You" posts a bigger impressions gain than both "That's What I Like" and "HUMBLE" in the latest update. WTF radio?

I noticed that Shape of You's peak audience is higher than that achieved by Uptown Funk! and its peak spins are just 98 below the latter's according to kworb.

Well, it looks like Uptown Funk's airplay record has just been passed.

^It's quite possible when the Top 10 article of the Hot 100, it will show that the audience is actually lower than Uptown Funk's maximum one, since the source of radio data is different at Billboard from what kworb uses. I noticed that when the weeks it presumably had passed the peak audience for See You Again and then Hello.
