She looks great, but I'm also excited for a better, non-vertical video. Honestly, that exclusive music video is perfectly designed for mobile devices.

I love this. So unexpected and perfect for her. I agree with everyone above saying that she has an incredible team. Musically, she reminds me of Britney in terms of making the most of her limited talent and being able to make much better pop music than her more competent contemporaries.

Interesting. I like the pre-chorus and chorus. The verses will have to grow on me. After a few listens it doesn't sound like a big hit to me, but I applaud her for taking a risk and doing something different.

She sounds like Alanis Morissette in some parts.

I cannot stand this new thing she's doing with her voice, but whatever. I like the melody and phrasing, lyrics are clever. Production is abysmal. The minimalist pop she pushed with 'Hands To Myself' was nice for the novelty but this doesn't work.

the video is premiering exclusively on spotify ? does spotify video streams count for Billboard ? how is that gonna work for charting ?

I feel like releasing this was a very good move for her. This falls under the same trend as many other pop songs by female singers that get traction in 2017, like "Issues" or "Now Or Never"... This is very low key but more upbeat pop songs by female singers seem to struggle more right now. I think that of all songs that will be released this week, this will be the biggest hit.

Her wording indicates the video on Spotify is probably not the actually official video. And it plays just like any song does on Spotify, so I don't know how it wouldn't count for Billboard.

I like this! The minimal production and the layered vocals are really nice.

It kind of reminded of Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson's Trouble. This isn't what I expected at all but I do enjoy it. It is more in the vein of Good For You and Hands To Myself in terms of singing. I'll probably never play this by myself again but if I hear it on the radio I won't turn it off

This is honestly better than I hoped, I thought she'd play it a little safer just based on It Ain't Me and I'm so glad she didn't. But I love this, it sounds like nothing else on the radio right now. I get "Royals" vibes and Selena's voice sounds almost like an American Kate Nash

It sounds kind of uninspired. This is such a Julia Michaels song which is expected since she co-wrote it but it's weird having both Selena and Julia releasing similar songs at around the same time.

Not as strong as GFY/HTM but those are excellent songs. I'm not bowled over but I'm sure it'll grow on me. By the last chorus I was pretty into it.

On the first couple of listens, I actually like the song itself. It's super quirky and refreshing.
The one thing I can't get around is her vocal. Her tone is so grating on this. It's not that far off from her vocals in the past, they just seem super pushed forward or the production doesn't hide them. I would love to hear someone who can actually sing perform this.

I like this, unsurprisingly. The only thing that bothers me is her pronunciation of "reality" and "actuality".

This is excellent aside from when she starts trying to belt for a second at 2:40 and reveals just how poor of a singer she is. That brutal hiccup aside, she plays it smart as expected and never dares to overpower the superb lowkey production. It's definitely not as immediate as the singles from her last album, or even the criminally passed over Sober and MATR, but it's certainly something that someone with her fanbase and industry support could make into a hit.

After first listen, I really like this. She's smart for playing the minimalist production, because radio seems to be more in that vain right now especially when it comes to females (when was the last time a female banger has really worked on radio besides Side to Side?!). I actually love the verses here and the chorus is sticking in my head quick. BUT I'm just nervous it might get old quick, I'm not sure if it has high repeatability yet.

This issue that I'm going to have with Selena here on out is that as long as she is working with Julia Michaels, I'm only going to hear Julia Michaels. It's similar to the "Sia" effect in which a majority of her written work is replaced in my mind by Sia singing since it's mimic'ed to a T.

I don't hate this but it certainly isn't that good either IMO. It's definitely different.
Honestly what I'm looking forward to is watching her try to sing this thing live. Actually, AM I looking forward to that? On one hand, the hilarity. On the other hand, I could go deaf.
