Another Single that Katy couldn't even get to go top 19 on the first day. What the hell happened to her power? It's usually Top 20.

I like Katy's part much more than Nicki's. Especially the pre-chorus ....and then that beat drops....
Taylor could never be that cool.

This is the best one yet and should have been the first single.

Another Single that Katy couldn't even get to go top 10 on the first day. What the hell happened to her power? A few things: - It's 2017, not 2011. Just like Gaga and Britney, Kay needs to work for hits now. They're not just gonna come easy anymore - This was only released as a promo single. Other than a tweet last night, the GP had no clue this was being released. - She's coming off a flop that got a decent amount of negative response.

So has this been confirmed as the third single at all? I'm confused.

Are you telling me that she can't even get as high as Brit and Gaga with promo singles now?

What does this sample? I've heard that beat during the verses before somewhere? It sounds like Truffle Butter and Girls Like. If this is a Taylor diss, does that mean the Taylor/Nicki truce is over? This is pretty terrible. Nicki's verse is the best thing but can't really save it. I thought Bad Blood was terrible too but when you're striking out trying to get a hit, this sounds really desperate. This type of retro house music has made a comeback in Europe in the last 5 years or so with plenty of artists making hits with this sound. However it makes sense for it to comeback in Europe where it ruled the charts. In the US? Besides a couple of hits back then there's no nostalgia for this sound going on. Not sure how it will do Plus it lacks the passion or the hook those 90s hits had

Private Show didn't even chart so that peak doesn't really mean much since it didn't last long.

In the red on Itunes (down to #15). With the hype about Kay vs Tay I figured it would at least go top 10...

Well, at least with this one I'm thinking they still have some time to call it a promo single and move on to something more marketable. Although I'm kinda doubting this album has something marketable at this point lol

Let's have some real talk, the majority of Gaga's latest singles hit the top on iTunes even Perfect Illusion. The fact that Katy Perry can't hit top 10 on iTunes with a current single points to her current star power waning as well as the material not connecting. Personally, I'm indifferent towards this song and don't really feel one way about it.

I expected at least top 10 just because it is Katy and Nicki (who both have big, but different fanbases that would buy their stuff) and it has Taylor drama attached to it. But, it is the third single and, let's face it, Bon Appetit pretty much murdered whatever hype this project had. Which, is fine-it is still salvageable at this point and Katy has a lot of HUGE promo looming that could easily pop this top 10 if not threaten for #1.
I am still baffled BA was received as badly as it was. I literally do not remember another song that threw this much of a cold bucket of water over an era since Judas.

I have seen several articles from major publications (like People) plasered on my Facebook and have seen celebrity interaction from twitter (Ruby Rose etc) creating buzz around this song as Katy's diss track to Taylor. I didn't say it was huggggeee massive hype, but this has been spreading throughout social media since its release and is being talked about. Guess I was expecting the curiosity factor to be more considering. I mean how much does the #10 spot on Itunes even sell on average these days? A top ten placement, especially momentarily, should not be this difficult with Katy, Nicki, and drama attached to it...

Some quasi-nobody named after a high school junior's poem about her period whining, and clickbait people isn't really hype, so I guess we agree? But even then, if you mention Taylor beefing with someone, they'll likely talk about Kanye and Kim, if even that. There was definite interest in whatever was between her and Katy, but that pretty much ended after 2015, especially after it was superseded by Kimye. It's unfortunate that Katy didn't get the memo, but that's not our problem.

One flop single and everyone is acting like her career is over. This song hasn't even been out 24 hours. No one even knew this promo single was going to definitely be released until last night.

Love this song! She finally gets it right after CTTR and BA. The production is amazing.
With that being said, not sure it will do well on radio but the clubs will go crazy for it.

I'm not saying her career is over, I'm saying her star power took a hit. It's interesting to see how things will unfold within the next month and whether anything on the album will connect unexpectedly like Dark Horse did.

I have absolutely zero doubt Taylor's attachment and the context of said attatchment to this song have added both hype and interest that it would not have benefited from had the song just been another promo single without a target. There has definitely been buzz generated. Whether or not people are biting is another argument entirely.

I do like this, mainly due to that production. As others have said her production has generally been far better then her hooks this era, and this song goes along with that. That being said there's not way I can see becoming a hit, especially after following Bon Appetit (which I'm really surprised flopped as hard as it did -- it's very on trend since it's a tropical house number but I think people dismissed it because it was so dumb lyrically and the fact that it lacked a strong hook didn't help either) but the house production that this has isn't a sound that's really ever been represented much on radio and certainly not now, plus this doesn't have much of a hook either. I foresee this getting a higher debut on the hot 100 then Bon Appetit but falling very quickly, maybe a chart run similar to MILF$ if Katy is lucky. This was a very strange single choice, there had to have been better stuff to release then this no?

Didn't Nicki make a tweet yesterday about Swish Swish and the BBMAs? Nicki is apparently getting a nine minute medley performance to open the show, which is a rather long time for any performer not receiving an icon award. I'm thinking Katy might join her at some point to perform this with her. Some quasi-nobody named after a high school junior's poem about her period whining, and clickbait people isn't really hype, so I guess we agree? But even then, if you mention Taylor beefing with someone, they'll likely talk about Kanye and Kim, if even that. There has definitely been buzz generated. Whether or not people are biting is another argument entirely. The buzz this does have is likely the reason it made it as high as #15. Without more exposure I'm not sure I would say the song itself is strong enough to do much more than that. For as much as people have been dissing the hook, I actually think that's the strongest part of the song. 'swish swish bish - another one in the basket' has been stuck in my head all day. It's just those verses! They kill the vibe some for me.

Private Show didn't even chart so that peak doesn't really mean much since it didn't last long. My point is, where has her fanbase gone? The first day Performance usually represents how big/loyal her fanbase is and the fact that even Britney promo track can outdo this first day is troubling.

This. Exactly. The chorus is definitely catchy and (melodically) the song's highlight. I feel the exact same about those verses. For me, honestly, the verses have been what has killed the vibe on all three singles.

The Cure had Coachella couple that with the fact that it's a radio friendly song that most have been wanting for quite some time. It's quite honestly apples and oranges.

Isn't Katy announced as a performer for the BMA's? I figured that's when Nicki would join her later on in the show after her opening.
