Clint Black has my favorite song here so he gets my vote. Also, why only 4 nominees this year instead of 5?

I love Garth Brooks' understated reading of that Dylan song; it's my favorite version actually.
This is a strong set of nominees.

Oooo, this is an extremely tough choice between Garth and Steve... I gave it to Garth though. Also, they couldn't find someone to fill in a 5th slot? George Strait alone has like a million #1s every single year of the '90s and '00s, with almost every single one being very good, so they have literally no excuse for not being able to find something

Clint Black for sure! He's amazing and "Nothin' But The Taillights" is one of my favorite country songs from the 90s.

Or maybe 3-4 songs were tied for fifth, and they can't go past, say, 6 nominees so they just had 4.

Garth followed by Steve in a close second (Vince's song is kind of a bore).
For the 5th nominee, George's "I Just Want to Dance With You" comes to mind (for whatever reason he wasn't really on the Grammy's radar for much of his career though).

Steve Wariner was robbed here. Otherwise, Garth Brooks would have been a fine choice.
