This album is fantastic! I was underwhelmed with the direction she went with Right on Time, but she's totally back on track with this one for me. There's a lot of great fun songs on here and also a number of killer ballads like she's always done. I love it! "Salt Mines" and "Mary Kay and Maybelline" are stone cold country to the core. "Stacy" is an interesting and enjoyable song lyrically. Love the duet w/ Kid Rock. The last two tracks, "A Little Loretta" and "Big Wood Deck" are so much fun. "Hard Earned Money" is also really catchy and a standout as well. Such a great album. Glad to have new music from Gretchen again! <3

I liked this album well enough , but if I'm being honest it did take a little work. It just wasn't as assessable to me as her previous work. That being said , Salt Mines will go down as one of my favorite songs of the year. I also loved Mary Kay & Maybelline , A Little Loretta & Whiskey & My Bible. A few too may songs are just ho hum for me and the writing doesn't seem to be quite on par to some of her previous work. For instance , I see the lyrical hook they were trying to get with Summertime Town but its just too big a stretch for me. And ending the album with a dud like Big Wood Deck doesn't help either. Still , a respectable album and very worth the purchase.
