It's the exact type of song that she needed to come out with at this juncture, I think, and there's a lot to like about it...but her voice just isn't strong enough to pull off the last third imo. There isn't a lot of depth there so it just comes off as sort of shouty, but also quiet/buried, and that high note is out of place and barely on key, if not actually flat.
The lyrics, and the chorus in particular, are quite strong, and it strikes that difficult balance of being intensely personal, to the point where we all know what she's singing about, but also universal.
A step in the right direction, for sure, but not exactly my cup of tea. Also, kind of a buzzkill for summer. I have no idea what radio will do with this, but nothing would surprise me.
The video is strong overall, but the spoken word intro and fake whale are so distractingly extra. The opener has 2010 Gaga written all over it.

The opener has 2010 Gaga written all over it. You could probably chalk that up to Jonas Åkerlund being the director. I'm in love with her for releasing something so vulnerable and beautiful.

This is fine, but it's not a radio track. More than anything, it takes too long for all the elements to really kick in. I get why it's done, but this is more like something which should have been released as a first peek, and immediately followed by the radio track.
Still stand by my previous statement that Uh Huh is right up her alley and plays to her strengths, way more than this too.

Amazing track. I hope America/radio finally gets some taste and puts this song in heavy rotation. She hit it out of the park with this release. If we could get a live performance soon I'm optimistic she'll deliver.

Where's the hook?? She has been gone for years and needed to have an amazing song to get a hit. The video is very Jodorowsky's "The Holy Mountain."

Dayum. Always liked her, but never expected to be emotionally moved by a Kesha song. This is powerful stuff.

This isn't totally left-field from her ballads on her other albums, but it is a huge step up vocally for her and will certainly be new to the GP. I really hope this catches on - one of my favorite songs from a pop start in a long time.

I'm sorry to disappoint, but I doubt this will be anything like the juggernaut's that were Timber and Tik Tok. It may get massive sales for one week, and then just flop like Rise, Perfect Illusion and Make Me did last year.

I'm a sucker for a good ballad, but this is a bore and she does not have the voice for the climax.

This is actually more or less what I was expecting from her and I love it. I was NOT expecting that whistle note near the end -- what was that?! Vocals pretty great all throughout though, and -- most importantly -- you can hear passion in her singing.
I doubt this will be a big hit, but it should garner some interest and likely much respect for Kesha.

At the very least, this is a song that creates nice buzz and a story, kind of like "Not Ready To Make Nice." Which radio gave the cold shoulder to (despite it's high Hot 100 peak because of sales), but set up the album nicely and got some awards attention.
If there was any justice, this would be her "Coming Out Of The Dark." But radio just ain't the same as it was back then.

This is growing with each listen, really good power ballad, and a major vocal step-up Video is nicely done Hope she gets the success she deserves

I can only see this being as successful as her song with Zedd last year. But I love it. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Tears. This is beautiful. I'm not expecting a hit but I really hope Pop gets behind it and at least push it far enough so that the second single (which probably would be a banger) can become a massive hit. This is a very good re-introductory single.

I don't think she cares if this is a radio hit. And that's perfectly fine, because this is an awesome track. Powerful and vulnerable.

I'm sort of obsessed with Stan war queens who are comparing its chart potential to Tik Tok and Timber. Tell us, what is it like to be so numb?

I actually really like this song, and video. The video actually looks like effort and money was put into it, which I can't really say for most music videos post-2015, aside from T Swift's. I was expecting the song to just be a slow piano ballad but it actually gets really powerful and moving halfway in. Her vocals sound great on this. She'll definitely be proving to people that she's not that dumb autotuned party girl Dr. Luke and her label propped her up to be (although I'll admit I loved "Ke$ha" as well) The song is very well written, it's giving me pre-mainstream Sia vibes
I know it's not exactly a 2017 radio easy upbeat pop song, but I'm so bored of how predictable and controlled pop music has become in the last 2-3 years so this is a breath for fresh air, and a GOOD ONE! Just pre-ordered her album :)

She's probably gonna have the same problem as Gaga.People are gonna want to hear the eccentric crazy Kesha not the serious Kesha.I'm still rooting for her though.

It is a beautiful song-definitely bought it. I think it was a good move in some ways, but literally cannot imagine it being a chart hit. I wonder if she even cares or thinks she will get chart hits right now though? Or, if maybe they have a friendlier single sitting in the wings.
