First off, way too long of a title for a song. I can't even fit it there!
I started a topic for this at the short-lived UMG, so I figured why not start up again here.
This Phil Collins remake was originally recorded for his R&B tribute CD "Urban Renewal" about 2 or 3 years ago. It has been remixed and will appear on Deborah's upcoming album, REMIXED.
I think this is an excellent remake. The vocals are tight, the mood is nice and mellow, the synthesizers add a nice touch. KTU has really caught onto this, even more so than they did to "Mr. Lonely" late last year.
Anyone else like this? Too bad they don't go to Pop with this. I think it'd have a chance.

Not a bad song here. IMO, it's better than her last few remixes (Play Your Part, Mr. Lonely, Absolutely Not) but still nowhere near the quality of "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here". I wouldn't mind hearing this at CHR.

I wouldn't mind hearing this at CHR. Well, if KTU keeps playing it as much as they are, Z100 will likely add it 4 or 5 months from now as they usually do.

Peaks of The Remix album on Billboard Charts:
2003 Deborah Cox Remixed Top Electronic Albums No. 4 2003 Deborah Cox Remixed Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums No. 85
So yup, it failed to make top 200...

Pretty bad showing. But let's face it, this project was just thrown out there. It was a quick attempt to cash in because there's NO promotion and they aren't really losing anything by the fact that it's not selling. That's the album cover. Pretty cheap looking and Deborah isn't on it. (Or is that her? I can't even tell). But LOL@ it debuting at #84 on the R&B/Hip-hop Albums chart. True, Deborah is an Urban artist but these remixes are not at all. I hope Deb finds a new home. :(

Yes. That's Deborah Cox on the cover. That's from the photoshoot for "The Morning After".

Hey boys... I think the cover is really cool! I don't like the lettering for "REMIXED" but the rest is cool... and I could tell that was Deborah and those were headphones instantly, I think it's great. The paper they used for the CD cover is cheap tho, that hard grainy type paper rather than glossy. I like the CD, it's good to work out to. You should see my on the machines when I'm listening to that, I work out like a crazy bitch LOL It's kinda weird they released that remix to clubs now since she recorded it ages ago. I instantly fell in love with it and downloaded Deborah's original version from the UR album... I didn't like it as much, it was too slow! It always pisses me off that they put the funky house mix of "It's Over Now" right in the middle of 2 diva hands in the air type mixes ("I Never Knew", "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here"), it just totally ruins the flow of it and I always end up skipping it, they should've put in Hex Club mix there and saved the retro-future mix as a bonus track. Also, the mixing on this album is pretty crappy... there almost isn't any mixing, it's like the songs are pasted together. But it's still a good album to have IMO.

"SHOTWTH" is #2 on Billboard's Dance Airplay chart! I liked this song since I first heard it back in June, but now it is REALLY clicking with me. I think it may be my second favorite Dance song of 2003 now.

i haven't heard much about deborha in the us lately. and it think it is a shame. she is defintiely a diva following in the shoes of whitney ( not the bad one). and i think she desrves alot of credit for putting together some really good songs. but like i said it has pretty much gone unnoticed. i will definitely be buying this cd when i find it ???

Z100 just added this! :)
That's a good sign, the top Pop station in the country! Hopefully more stations will follow now.... most likely the usual ones in the Northeast, but still. This is good news!

I really got into this cd when I first got it. But now I am almost totally over it. Which is too bad. I really like alot of the remixes but some of them are really weak. Especially the "Absolutlely Not" remix. That is just horrible.

Wouldn't it be so weird if this song became a huge hit in the new year and eventually became Deborah's biggest pop hit and second biggest Billboard single? (behind 'Nobody's Supposed To Be Here')

(behind 'Nobody's Supposed To Be Here') Yes. And I really hope that happens too. Her vocals are great on this song too. I really want Deborah to land a new record deal, and one that's committed to her for that matter! A big hit would help!

If it was giving the proper chance the song would blow up I am sure of it. I also agree that she needs a new record label. J Records have totally dropped the ball.

I really wish she'd get signed already. It's making me nervous.

She shouldn't have a problem getting a deal. Maybe not the one she wants, but she'll get one. If nothing else, one of the dance labels would snap her up in a minute.

Since she's doing Aida and all that in 2004, I almost think she's not really trying to get a record label at the moment. I think maybe she's trying to take a breather and will worry about getting signed and a little later. I can see why she would just want to take some time away from the business, and when she comes back maybe she'll be even stronger. If nothing else, one of the dance labels would snap her up in a minute. Very good point. The qustion is, would Deborah be cool with this? Despite the fact that she's huge in the clubs and probably loves Dance music, I think Deborah views herself as an R&B artist first an foremost. Deborah is so unique that she has 2 completely different fanbases... the Dance crowd and the Urban AC crowd. Some fans of her Dance music don't even know she has songs like "Sentimental" and "We Can't Be Friends." And some of her R&B fans don't even know she has huge Dance hits!
