Carrie could surprise drop a visual album, sweep the Grammy’s, sell 20 million worldwide, and escort Trump out of the WH in handcuffs ... okay, but, like, can this actually happen?

I watched the first episode last night and Carrie's intro gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling. It's super cool to know the chick I voted for is still kicking ass after all these years, all while staying gracious to her roots. She rules.

^ That should point to new music by then right?? 😬😬😬 Yep! I do think she’ll be a last minute ‘surprise’ addition to the ACMs. As in, I can see her dropping the single the Friday before the weekend, and debuting it on TV on Sunday. Also, curious as to when she’ll have her Hollywood Star ceremony. Perhaps they’ll align that with the album rollout.

Ugh. Mark Bright? Again? How utterly disappointing.

Hey... Mark Bright has had a huge hand in some of Carrie’s most successful work. I’m open to it... and we really don’t know if he’s her only producer on this, do we? She could be mixing it up again like she did with the last album?... Either way, I’m so pumped and ready for this!

Really hoping with that Tweet, that a new single is here for the ACM's! Fingers crossed because I am so impatient haha!

Mark Bright is responsible for my least favourite production on Storyteller - Mexico. But he also pleasantly surprised me with WINKIAW. So I hope he gives me a good surprise again!
Jay Joyce's tracks were by far the bigger standouts in terms of production on Storyteller.

Hopefully he produced some songs for the new album.

I want her to venture OUT of the usual Nashville producer circuit, Jay Joyce included. And I think/hope Cindy Mabe helped push her to do this. I have high hopes. Mark Bright and Cindy are two of the people hugely responsible for curating what became the entire Some Hearts era. Combined with how much pressure is on everyone involved at UMG and Capitol to make this a success, I don’t think we’ll be getting material that could fall on its face.
I have high hopes. Really don’t have a clue as to what is happening or what the direction is, but with the way the last 12 months have panned out for her in her personal life (that she’s openly discussed), I’m hoping for some really strong writing and an even stronger sonic shift. Time to take another big, artistic step forward.

Hey... Mark Bright has had a huge hand in some of Carrie’s most successful work. I’m open to it... and we really don’t know if he’s her only producer on this, do we? She could be mixing it up again like she did with the last album?... Either way, I’m so pumped and ready for this! Successful, yes, absolutely. How artistically important or elevated? Debatable. I really love Carrie, I do. Her voice is one in a billion -- she's a generational talent and true class act. But her material has often lagged behind that talent; she can do better. And producers like Mark Bright with his pop sensibility and love of over-production only serve to underscore that while, yes, she's netted a truck load of commercially successful tunes under him, her artistic development has stagnated. She's not the fresh young ingenue anymore. She's 35. In a short handful of years the Nashville Machine will "promote" her to legacy status and put her out to pasture. 40 year old women don't fare well in country music. So, now is the time for her to strike with something truly important. Something both the critics and hard core country fans can really respect. I'd like to see her work with Dave Cobb, personally. Now, it seems that her desire is to push her brand international and play on an even bigger stage. To do that she'll have to take her music even more pop. And hey, if that's what Carrie wants that's what Carrie wants. But as her fan I'll be disappointed. I was really hoping to see an end to drum machines, synthesizers, terrible canned bgv's, and wall-of-sound production.

Per ACC with Kix Brooks twitter, Carrie will be stopping by on the show this weekend. Hmm 👀.

New title registered at HFA/Songfile:
"Father's Son" - Dave Barnes, Jordan Kyle Reynolds, Carrie Underwood
This is actually one of the songs, along with "Paint," that got leaked to @steveic last year and then featured on Taylor's Inner Circle. However, it was only registered in the past week or so. Given that Carrie only started following Dave Barnes on social media prior to writing for this album and that Jordan Reynolds is a relatively new name in the songwriting world, I'm pretty sure this song was written for CU6.
I got the sense that "Paint" came from the same source, so I'd say that one was probably written for the next album as well.

Dave Barnes has written some really great songs, so I am intrigued. Some of his stuff can be too sappy and lifeless melodically though, so that title in particular worries me a little, but I am remaining hopeful at this point! I just hope we get something SOON!

That's interesting information, Typo. Thanks for the update. Sounds like both songs are strong possibilities for the upcoming album.

Anyone know what was going on with her Kix Brooks/ACC appearance from this weekend?
