Brad doubled down on his statement from GMA at today's press conference ( watch here, but it's 26 minutes and nothing's really that important) that her performance will be the night's biggest moment. Lots and lots of discussion in the press conference about the somber state of the US/world right now, too. That, and after he said that, it went really silent in the room and she didn't react. All signs are pointing to her being in control of this tribute.

Revisited Carnival Ride for the first time in forever today. Whole album still holds up remarkably well. "You Won't Find This" in particular struck me in a way it didn't when the album dropped a decade ago. Extremely well-written and beautifully sung.

Not to be harsh or anything, but when was Carrie NEVER in control of her tribute? In some aspects,I think she's always been in control of her CMA performances album related or not.She might've gotten input from other people around her, but she's probably always been in control of her awards show performances no matter what. She was probably in control before it was even said it was a tribute performance and before we had any idea of what she was performing.I would think that in this point in her career that she would be in control of EVERY aspect of her CMA performances, but still get input from the people surrounding her on how her performance would go.Not trying to start any arguments here, just giving my own personal opinion on Carrie's tribute performance.

Tribute could've involved a few artists, not just Carrie, which in that case, Carrie can't be fully in control since it's not a solo performance. Please stop jumping to conclusions based on nothing and be unnecessarily defensive of Carrie. It's getting really irritating.

Wow, you're legit in bananaland. First off, the tribute is to the victims of the Las Vegas shooting and is being done by the CMA to remember them with Carrie signing. It's not, "Carrie's tribute." Second, take advice from others here (who are much nicer than me) to tone it down. You make Carrie fans look bad (and crazy).

Popping back in at the onset of another Carrie era and it genuinely warms my heart to see a bunch of old faces. Excited for CU6! :)

I usually stay in the background on this forum and enjoy the awesome posts on here, but I have to say there is some irony in your statement of "not to be harsh or anything" at the beginning of your response. I have noticed a trend of you regularly being harsh to others on this forum when you reply to their thoughts or speculations. It's good to have an opinion and you seem to be very passionate about Carrie (which is great!), but I think there is a much more tactful approach that could be taken that gets your point across without coming across as "rude" or "harsh" to others. That would be my feedback to you, but do with it what you will.

We love a sleek fashion-forward icon. Storme Warren, a country radio personality, said that Carrie's performance will be "A MOMENT." With all of the hype, it's impressive that we still don't know what she's performing exactly.

She just lost female vocalist to Miranda. As expected, of course.

WOW. What a fitting tribute.
I was a little teary during the song but seeing the victims and hearing her voice at the end just kills me. Waterworks.

Wtf. Carrie is getting roasted by 'fans' on her facebook because she made a joke about trump.
Disgusting. Those people dont know how to relax and differ when its a joke or not. When Brad and Carrie made a joke about Obama, those people laughed at it. Double standard.

She'll be fine. Same thing happened when she supported gay marriage in 2012 and Westboro Baptist Church threatened to protest her shows on the BA Tour. Let the bigots seethe. She's better off without 'em.

Wow. I am seeing a lot of criticism of her on Twitter for the opening. I have 2 reactions to this: 1. Some are saying you didn't see her making fun of Obama, when in fact they roasted Obamacare several years ago. So, these people are ignorant. 2. I am SO TIRED of these 'patriots' thinking being American means we all have to believe the same things and act the same way. That is anti-American, actually.
