Going to be insanely huge. Probably #1 for most of the rest of the year pending any surprise releases

It will be very hard to outperform Shape of You but I do feel like this will be one of his biggest hits.

I have loved Ed Sheeran for a long time but I am really underwhelmed by this song. It's just okay for me, just a dull knockoff of his earlier superior ballads. But I'm in the minority on this one and I certainly don't begrudge him another hit, so good luck to him on this.

Better than Thinking Out Loud, for me. Can't wait for Perfect's music video and #1 position.

The song is ok but it sounds like a lukewarm version of Thinking Out Loud. It'll still probably have just as big of a chart run considering everyone is still obsessed with Ed Sheeran at the moment

Whilst I don't doubt at all that this will be a hit, it's also already been streamed like 220 million times on Spotify and probably quite a lot on other platforms too so it'll need huge additional streaming and sales and airplay to challenge #1 on Hot 100. I'd say it can go top ten at best, maybe after a Grammy performance.

Why so many people think this will be such smashing hit? It's Ed Sheeran so it'll do well because he is probably the top male singer right now, but frankly this didn't smash in UK. It peaked at 4, and the longevity wasn't that amazing either. And the comparision with TOL, well it's a ballad, but TOL was in UK chart since the release of the album, and it was able to peak at one even as third single. I'm pretty sure this will be top 10, probably top 5 on pop, but expecting being number one for a lot of weeks is a bit too much (at least in my opinion)

I think that's mainly why. And it's a cute Ed ballad. People love cute Ed ballads.

Well, "x" was a good album, but 1st and 2nd singles were not smash hits like Shape Of You (incomparable), TOL was the only SMASH hit from that album. People are now maybe tired of him and perhaps it will significantly affect on Perfect..but top 3 in US and UK guaranteed and it will have longevity thanks to the Grammys and BRITs.

Sing was his first number one in UK and it was a big hit. And it was not difficult to see that TOL was going to smash, this is a cute song but in my opinion it doesn't sound like a smash hit to me (of course i'm wrong in my predictions the whole time so who knows)

Perfect will officially impact contemporary hit radio on 26 September and it's already #32 on iTunes. That reminds me of Dark Horse, 3rd single from Prism, people were hyped about that song and it was #1 for 3 weeks without music video. Not sure about #1 on Billboard, but top 3 and 40+ weeks for sure.

I must admit that in 2017 it does feel kinda weird when a single takes off this long after the album release. I mean I have not seen this happen in a while.

In fact that song was charting on the hot 100 for a lot of weeks before being a single. I don't think are similar situations. And i don't deny this could do very well, but right now nothing makes me think that this will be number one of the hot 100 for a lot of weeks. The advantages this song has are it comes from a very successful album and there are not a lot of big ballads on the chart right now

Heard this on the radio for the first time yesterday. This is going to be shoved down everyone’s throats at Shape of You level, calling it now

I would like to see Perfect at #1, but everything depends on the competition, JT, TOP, Taylor or maybe Rihanna. Perfect is a perfect song for fall/winter and that's the main advantage, I think. Sometimes, big albums harms 3rd or 4th singles, and since Divide is a blockbuster in UK, Perfect will be a bigger hit in US.

I don't like most of his slower music (hated Thinking Out Loud and Photograph), but I really like this one. He sounds nice and the song is very smooth.
