While we were all in awe over Rainbow, this gem quietly released as well. Billie Eilish is a 15-year-old that is quickly becoming the talk of the industry. Her debut single, "Ocean Eyes," released in early 2016, was a song the then 13-year-old created for her dance group, produced by her brother. After great reaction to the song, it was officially released and Eilish was quickly snatched up by Interscope. Since then, she released "Six Feet Under" as a stand alone single, "Bellyache," another standalone single, and "Bored," part of the soundtrack for 13 Reasons Why. A few weeks ago, she released "watch" as the first track from this EP followed by "COPYCAT" the following week. She continued to release a track until the EP's full release last Friday. dont smile at me is an EP consisting of six new tracks plus "Ocean Eyes" and "Bellyache."  1. COPYCAT 2. idontwannabeyouanymore 3. my boy 4. watch 5. party favor 6. Bellyache 7. Ocean Eyes 8. hostage I cannot stress to you guys enough how unique this girl is. She is being compared to Lorde. Her voice is so smooth and haunting. Her lyrics are impressive for anyone, let alone a 15-year-old*. "Bellyache" in particular is from the perspective of a serial killer. *Her brother also tends to co-write a lot with her also. |

She caught my attention with "Ocean Eyes" & the gem that is "Six Feet Under" made me a fan. She will surely be a star in the future ❤❤❤

She currently has three songs ("ocean eyes", "lovely", "you should see me in a crown") on Spotify's Today's Top Hits playlist. "you should see me in a crown" is also the featured playlist video there. I wonder what kind of black magic her team is doing to Spotify. Reminds me of what Camila's team did earlier this year.

Ok I finally got a time to check out her EP. I mildly like everything I've heard so far but nothing about her excites me the way Lorde or LDR did when they debuted.

I watched that last night and her sadness was palpable. Her mom commented on IG that the interview was done at the tail end of a very long promo week so she was just tired plus had on no makeup but... the difference was so stark between the two videos that I find it hard to believe it’s as simple as that. Hopefully she’s got the right people around her and this doesn’t turn tragic.
Side note: I knew she was popular but damn! I had no idea her following nor streams were quite that massive.

I can't tell how much of her is real and how much of it is just angsty teenager shtick. She doesnt sound like she's in a good place to be honest. Some people aren't cut out for fame, and she's not even had a major breakthrough yet. She is definitely somebody I think would be at risk if she did become more than just tumblr scene famous.

I'm impressed with her having such a distinct sound and think she's incredibly talented. Her angsty teen girl brand is annoying (not talking about that interview - I hope she's doing okay and has a good support system) it's just like you have all this talent and opportunity why is your music so depressing.
Her career will definitely be interesting to watch.
