Well, there's Good News and Bad News...
Good news is AT40 finally had its' big debut week (and - spoiler alert - "Uh Huh" did not make it into the Top 40; it's not even "On The Verge")
And the bad news...
We're likely going to have to get used to having four Breakouts/On The Verge songs every week (this despite the failure of the aforementioned "Uh Huh").
I'll just say it right here. I hate it. It stinks. Just because Seacrest hated the "Two-For-One" feature (which I'd rather they resurrect then hearing a fourth Breakout every week), we all have to suffer for this.

I live in Florida and because I am under Hurricane watch, I'm posting the chart earlier than normal. Hopefully I will resume the usual schedule next Friday. Sorry for the trouble.

Hope you stay safe out there! My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Anyway, my thoughts on this: - Surprised to see Charlie Puth at #1 for the 2nd week in a row, what with it starting to lose its steam elsewhere, but I'm not complaining.
- Nice to see Wild Thoughts inching closer to the #1 spot. If only Sirius XM Hits 1 treated this the same way at least.
- Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Versace On The Floor is going to become a big hit. I guess people were more fond of his upbeat tracks than his slower songs. Oh well.
- I'm not thrilled to see Body Like A Back Road in the Top 10. Out of all the country songs out there, this one had to gain popularity.
- As far as the exits go, I won't exactly be missing Issues, at least not right now. Same with I Don't Wanna Live Forever. However, I'm sad to see Rockabye leave. It was a huge favorite of mine. While I know some people are rejoicing over its departure, I'm not one of them. Goodbye, Rockabye. You will be missed!
- On a positive note, I'm very pleased to see Symphony being mentioned as an extra. Definitely one of the best songs of the year, for me at least.
- But more importantly, Uh Huh failed to make its debut! Let us rejoice!

You have been doing a great service for me (and others), and I really appreciate it.
I am wishing that you stay safe, and the hurricane doesn't reach you.

^ Unfortunately, I live in Miami, and this is looking like a terrible situation right now. I think there will be widespread destruction.

Since "Attention" is still at #1 on the Mediabase list and is over 3000 spins ahead of the next song gaining ("Slow Hands") it should certainly get at least a third week on top, and quite possibly more. Last week Ryan said that Bruno Mars' first 16 AT40 entries all went top 10, and asked "can he make it 17 with this?" before playing a clip of "Versace" (leading into a commercial break.) Maybe he jinxed it.... And while it's unlikely to chart, I actually like "Uh Huh" (a Breakout last week) better than "Issues". Maybe because I haven't had and probably will never have a chance to get tired of it from overplay. So not rejoicing here.

Just curious, why do you hate the 4th Breakout so much? The 2 For 1 feature ended in early 2016 and has usually been replaced with a filler extra. Personally, I'd much rather hear a new song than a gold or recurrent that I've heard dozens of times before. I don't see anything wrong with a 4th Breakout. New music is good.

On the note of Uh Huh, I can why some like it, mainly because it's a little more upbeat than Issues. My main problem is unlike its predecessor, Uh Huh has virtually no meaning whatsoever, and her vocals are scratchy. I've read on someone's blog about this and he critically panned this song from the top down. But yeah, I'm glad it didn't chart. I can actually see Attention being #1 for another week, and I probably won't be surprised by this, what with Charlie Puth becoming a rising artist ever since See You Again became a big hit. Though I doubt Attention will stay at the top for long, because Taylor Swift is headed for that region soon.

Ryan mentioned that Lady Antebellum was the last country crossover act to hit the top 10, he's wrong, it was Florida - Georgia Line with Cruise in 2013

"Cruise" required a rent-a-rapper remix to cross over. I'll just say it right here. I hate it. It stinks. Just because Seacrest hated the "Two-For-One" feature (which I'd rather they resurrect then hearing a fourth Breakout every week), we all have to suffer for this. I've never had a problem with four Breakouts, either. I prefer extras that serve an actual purpose, of sorts (in this case, promoting (hopefully-)soon-to-be-charting new music), rather than glorified "seat fillers" that are only there to pad out time. Interesting the Taylor didn't debut this week (I, kind of, expected she would). She'll, definitely, debut well into the top 20, if not top 15, on next week's chart.

I'm actually okay with a breakout every hour, too. It is new music being played, and I like how AT40 uses breakouts to show the fans and viewers what is gaining in popularity on the radio charts.

The only time a fourth Breakout should ever be necessary as if the three existing ones were "On The Verge" (meaning none of the three "Breakout/Verge" songs from the previous week debuted). Otherwise, it just feels too much to me. Especially when "Uh Huh" failed to hit the Top 40 and "Symphony" nearly did same (albeit peaking at #40). And why does AT40 still keep doing "Tell Me Something Good" on four-Breakout weeks anyway? Granted, the feature isn't as long as an actual song would but come on?!?!?!?

Ryan mentioned that Lady Antebellum was the last country crossover act to hit the top 10, he's wrong, it was Florida - Georgia Line with Cruise in 2013 The Cruise that crossover to pop has nothing to do with the original. That song that peaked in the top 10 of pop was everything but a country song. Generally country songs break into the pop charts with minor changes, that was the case of Need you now, if i die young, Wanted or Take your time, but Cruise was a totally different song from the one that peaked at 1 on the country charts

If you've been keeping a close eye on the actual Mediabase charts and "spins" trends, you pretty much knew that Bruno Mars was going to break his string of top ten AT40 hits. I saw this coming, and it was *not* a jinx to me...

Although I was afraid that people were not going to be too kind to it due to it being slow, but not even the David Guetta remix could help.
