What songs from the 21st century do you think will pass the test of time and be rembered in the future? The first potential classic that came to my mind was Lose Yourself by Eminem.

I have a giant list of songs that I consider to be classics that I made for my boyfriend. The criteria were that they have charted 10 years after they initially debuted. Either as a cover or as a re-entry. However, I also limited it to songs that debuted in the 20th century.
Ones from the 21st century, off the top of my head, include:
* All I Want For Christmas Is You, Mariah Carey (technically from 1994) * In The End, Linkin Park * Numb, Linkin Park
At least one Britney Spears song. I think a Destiny's Child or TLC song. About 2 or 3 songs by female Country singers, which got back on the chart through Voice performances.

Call Me Maybe and Someone Like You is already a classic, at least in Asia. Undoubtedly Complicated, SUBG, and Toxic are perfect example of 2000s classic.

Aren't a huge number of 21st century songs already considered classics any way?
Like, Yeah! by Usher, Apologize by OneRepublic, and Low by Flo Rida. I could list them, but I'm too tired and lazy. Plus, most of the posters above me already have a good mind of what I'd consider classics for the century.

2000’s ... 2010s ... My bets for songs that will be remembered.. maybe not all are “classics” yet but it’s a loose definition I'd remove If Ain't Got You, Locked out of Heaven, California Gurls, Last Friday Night and The Edge of Glory, but overall I agree with the list. +++ OneRepublic - Counting Stars Lorde - Royals (maybe?) Usher - Yeah! ft. a bunch of people. Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee - Despacito (the version without Bieber) Justin Bieber - Sorry Pharrell W. - Happy Mark Ronson - Uptown Funk! ft. Bruno Mars Ed Sheeran - Shape of You The Chainsmokers - Closer ft. Halsey The Chainsmokers - Don't Let Me Down ft. Daya (big maybe but I feel like it's getting there). Katy Perry - Dark Horse ft. Juicy J. P!nk - Get the Party Started
