Yep; the bottom is starting to fall out of this. Hopefully it doesn't reach the same velocity as LWYMMD this time, and it can at least make it to recurrency like RFI did.

This is everywhere on radio in Portugal. Her first radio hit from this era here if we exclude Gorgeous. I guess this can be a minor radio hit in Europe.

OUCH! It was expected though! GL tay-tay on your next single! At least this went top 10 on something in the US.

Looks like this is finally done for real this time. I'm not even sure what song can save the era at this point. It's just not connecting with the public very well at all.

Her streaming is actually pretty good, isn’t it? Like albums as a whole? And she’s always been an albums artist anyway. She doesn’t want to promote. She’ll be a touring and albums artist from this point going forward, saving performances and outings for high profile stages such as SNL and The Grammy’s. She’ll be the pop Beyoncé.

Easy Hot 100 #1 here if they time it well (i.e. album release week with a video). Yep, they screwed it.

So here's the radio chart position of her pop singles at the time of official release Shake It Off: N/A Blank Space: #15 Style: #10 Bad Blood: N/A Wildest Dreams: #28 Out of the Woods: #13 New Romantics: N/A
Ready For It: #19 End Game #10
I'm still pretty new to this chart stuff so how does radio pick these songs for airplay? How much control does Swift's team have over which song gets played prior to release?
Blank Space started getting airplay pretty much the moment the public heard it with album drop (same as End Game), so I guess it was just deemed the most obvious single? Posters on pulse seemed to have it as an immediate fave with Style as the #2. She seems to have anticipated that would happen too with the video filmed a month earlier, just like she also seems to have anticipated End Game.
And I think she held back Style right? I guess once Blank Space hit #1 she decided she didn't have to hold Style back anymore since Blank Space already had a month at #1 before Style got airplay.
Bad Blood entered the pop charts pretty much right after the MV dropped.
Wildest Dreams already reached #28 by the MV drop but only entered the top 50 three days earlier so I guess radio stations knew the MV was imminent, or she was holding it back too and decided to let it start getting played a bit earlier.
Out of the Woods was a bit weird since the MV was premiered more than a month before the "official release". Newb question but what does it even mean to get released on Feb 5 if it was already getting solid airplay and a MV beforehand?
The New Romantics got airplay shortly after single release but the tour video was only released once it was already dropping on pop radio.
TBH looks like all 5 of her last singles had a bit of an awkward release compared to the 5 #1s that came before. Hopefully she does things right with the next single.
If she follows her MO from 1989, she should release her next single on the February the 16th or 23rd. Maybe the instagram posts and BTS she just released are a hint that she's back and the next single is coming soon?

The label actually asked stations not to play Bad Blood and Wildest Dreams before their music videos dropped.
Radio just started playing the others once they were announced as singles. For an artist as big as she is, an adds date/release date means little. End Game got early support because it was a collaboration between her and the biggest artist of last year, and the previous two singles were already dead.

Not surprised by the callout after it never held up on sales.

They need to choose something completely inoffensive next. Anything that remotely sounds like her older music is a decent option, quite frankly. This “the old Taylor is dead” statement isn’t connecting, a change needs to be made.

Delicate is the way to go. It’s chill, breezy and inoffensive. I swear if they go with I Did Something Bad next, they might as well as end it right now already.
This “new” Taylor isn’t connecting at all so Delicate should be next, and then if Big Machine/Republic wants more singles, then they should only go with Getaway Car (1989 vibes) and Don't Blame Me (which is a career highlight tbh). Nothing else and nothing more at all!

Yeah, if they go with IDSB next I'm done with this era tbh.
Delicate next. If it works (top 5 at the very least on Pop, top 10 on the Hot 100) then you couldn't go wrong with either Don't Blame Me, Getaway Car or IDSB (with a feature).

I think a lot of us Swift fans miss her interviews that is why we want her to promote. As for the next single, the only way to get another #1 this era would be to remix it with another artist. This will be the 4th single from the album, it needs to be rejuvenated like Bruno Mars did with his era.

I think "Delicate" fits best with the current pop climate. They should throw that at radio and see how it sticks.
I *wish* "Getaway Car" was the kind of song that could survive in today's climate but it's not.

I'd really prever Delicate as a 4th single.
Just imagine:
3rd single - big reputation, big reputation 4th single - my reputation's never been worse so
Type of controversion. Plus old Taylor would reborn for GP and media, so she can do some hype on this situation.

I think the era is over in terms of major radio support. I don't think Delicate nor Getaway Car are going to make a major splash. I think she should bow out now before she has a real hardcore flop on her hands. Who knows, maybe Delicate or Getaway Car could do something but I think radio is done with her for a while. She needs to regroup and focus on the following era and her tour. Let the headlines be record breaking tour revenue instead of a flop single.
I also don't think 'reputation' is going to sell much past the two million mark in the U.S. which she is at now. 2 million in pure sales is nothing to sneeze at and at least she can toot her horn at that statistic.
