Guess what everyone? Justin Bieber finally became good this year!
61. What Do You Mean? by Justin Bieber
YE Position: #33
Yes from that same dorky teen punching bag we all loved to hate from 2009-2014, he finally started making good music in 2015. By making tropical styled pop music... yeah now I can see where 2016 got it's inspiration from for tropical house and reggaeton. But I don't hate this song tbh, it's got a good groove, Bieber isn't being a total ass in this, more like confused at best. But hey, this isn't even the best song Bieber released in 2015, Hell his best song isn't even on here. But there is one song that did prove to me that Bieber is capable of making great music though.

So, we got a not-so-much a cover of the Bee Gees big hit How Deep is Your Love.
60. How Deep Is Your Love by Calvin Harris ft. Disciples
YE Position: #100
It's not really Calvin's best work, the two collabs he did with Ellie Goulding and maybe Blame and Summer are his best, but this isn't half bad though. It's a nice, chill dance song, and the female vocals aren't bad either, it's relaxing I guess. I guess when I saw the title I was both excited and worried that is was a cover of the Bee Gees song, but it's not. It's a good dance song, not much more for me to add.

59. Animals by Maroon 5
YE Position: #46
I like this more than I probably should in retrospect. It's a dark, edgy song that normally would make me hate it, but I feel Maroon 5 pull it off well here. I will admit, Adam's howl before the final chorus does aggravate me though. Maybe it's similar to Shakira's She Wolf, and maybe Adam is secretly a furry. That would explain the video for Don't Wanna Know though.

58. Bang Bang by Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj
YE Position: #80
This is more of a 2014 hit than 2015, but whatever, I really like this song. Even though the production is mostly just percussion and nothing else, I do like it. Ariana is great, so is Jessie, and I even like Nicki's verse. The chorus is basically just just "bang bang" with some other word or phrase after it, but it's catchy. That said, it's mostly this low because of the 100% percussion production, and that it was more of a 2014 hit.

Well, this is awkward.
57. Bitch Better Have My Money by Rihanna
YE Position: #48
This is by no means Rihanna's best, nor is it her worst. But oh my God is this a guilty pleasure song for me! I may not buy Rihanna's "gangsta" attitude, but this song is just too catchy for me. The trap production doesn't bother me, and some of the lines in ther verses are either funny, catchy or another realm entirely.
"Louis XIII & it's all on me n**** you just bought a shot. Turn up to Rihanna while the whole club fuckin' wasted
Every time I drop, I am the only thing y'all playin'
In a drop top, doin' hundred, y'all in my rearview mirror racin' "
I am lowkey pissed that this and the two other Rihanna songs in 2015 were cut from Anti. But hey, what can you do? It's stil la song I enjoy, and I get why people hate it tho.

56. Chains by Nick Jonas
YE Position: #68
I think it's safe to say this is the best Nick Jonas song ever made. Levels may be a close second, but come on, we all know this is better. The beat is dark, gritty but amazing, Nick's voice is great, and lyrics about being in chains is a pretty clever metaphor. Overall, good song for me.

55. I'm Not The Only One by Sam Smith
YE Position: #26
Honestly, I think this is the weakest of the three Sam Smith songs that were on this year end list. To me, this just seems like Stay With Me part 2, and that's kind of what keeps this from being any higher. It's a good song though, I like the soulful production, Sam's voice is still great, and the lyrics are meaningful, but it just doesn't click like Stay With Me did. Also, I'm lowkey pissed that Like I Can, one of the better songs off of In The Lonely Hour wasn't a hit in the U.S.

Guess what everyone, Meek Mill got fucked!
54. Back To Back by Drake
YE Position: #99
Yeah no, 2015 was what I'd call Drake's peak critically, while 2016 was the peak of his commercial success. The difference is that Drake wasn't a boring slog of an artist in 2015, and this is exhibit A. He actually brought some fire and his A game in 2015, by beefing with Meek Mill and basically killing his career. Or at least I thought it did until 2016 and 2017 reared it's ugly head, as Meek continued with his album and mixtape bombs. But hey, at least Drake had better success than him, even if Views was awful and boring. At least he finally got a #1 hit, one that I actually like. Oh yeah, and the song is pretty good too, I meant Back To Back. I forgot about that and went on about Drake and meek again. Sorry.

53. Worth It by Fifth Harmony ft. Kid Ink
YE Position: #23
Here you go guys, to prove that I don't hate everything by Fifth Harmony. I may hate 7/27/ and Work From Home with a burning passion, but even I can admit that they have made some good songs in the past. While this song has gotten it's fair share of thrashing for "allegedly" stealing the Talk Dirty formula, (By which it's just having a sax riff, which is a stupid reason imo) I never truly hated this at all really. Kid Ink's verse is just the same repeated twice, but I actually really like the sax riff, the buildup to the chorus is great, and I don't even mind Camila's voice. I still think she was easily the weak link in the group, and with her gone, Fifth Harmony got better with their 3rd album, which I'd say is there best work yet. Still this song is good, not great, and I think it is quite frankly, overhated.

The indie rock sweepstakes has returned!
51. Riptide by Vance Joy
YE Position: #71
The ukulele is great, and so is the rest of the production. Vance Joy sounds good, but I do feel he leans more towards cringy near the end with his voice, sounding like it's about to burst. Overall it's a good indie song, but I feel like I've heard this sound done better though. I am also kind of pissed it took two years for this song to hit the mainstream, I feel this could have been much bigger in 2012 tbh.

Alright, we've made it to the top 50, and HERE we go!
50. Here by Alessia Cara
YE Position: #94
I may like the dark, anti-conformity/"I'm not a cool girl" vibe, but this song did get tiring. Alessia is a good singer and her album Know It All was great, but I do feel that this isn't really her best. Wild Things should have been a hit, but I'll take what I can get. At least Alessia can try how to sell good pop music.

49. Stitches by Shawn Mendes
YE Position: #36
I think my only complaint about this song is just how whiny Shawn sounds in this song. No wonder some called him a mini Bieber, young, Canadian, hot, gets all the girls, and sounds like a whiny douche. But I like the guitar, the production is catchy and so is the chorus, and I don't mind the lyrics all that much. Even though Bieber started getting better around the same time this was becoming huge, I did feel that he was basically gonna be Bieber 2.0, and he proved that he could make songs just as bad as Bieber's old music with Mercy and Treat You Better. But, at least he's gotten better it seems.

48. 679 by Fetty Wap ft. Remy Boyz
YE Position: #21
The beat's great, Fetty sounds good, and the lyrics are better than most other rap songs I've ever heard. But again, I just don't like Fetty's voice all that much, and it does bring the song down to just good for me though. I still like it though, just not as much as the other 47 songs on this list.

47. Want To Want Me by Jason Derulo
YE Position: #17
This is one of Jason Derulo's best by far. The beat is amazing, the lyrics are fine, its all good. But the one thing keeping this down for me, is Jason's falsetto. You remember how we all mocked him in 2009 and 2010 for being an Usher/Chris Brown wannabe, well this falsetto is one of my reasons. I can handle Usher's falsetto, Chris' I cannot, and Jason falls somewhere in the middle for me. But with this out of the way, we can finally move onto...

5-Great
46. Lips Are Movin' by Meghan Trainor
YE Position: #22
Yes, I love not one, but two Meghan Trainor songs! And there's a reason why, this song is just bouncy, bubblegum fun for me. The chorus is catchy, Meghan isn't annoying, her voice is great, everything about this is just fun and catchy for me. I don't mind this at all, and I'd call it a great song and a guilty pleasure for me.

45. Lay Me Down by Sam Smith
YE Position: #81
This is the kind of soulful Sam I like. It has a great meaning, a great purpose, and great everything. The production is as soulful as I expect, the vocals are top-notch and the lyrics are what I want in a soul ballad. Sam Smith hasn't really laid me down just yet, and there is only one more Sam Smith song left on here, and you all know what it is.

The second of three Ed Sheeran songs, and it's actually his most popular. (Well second only to Shape Of You, but that's a different story)
44. Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran
YE Position: #2
I think this is a great slow dance song, which is what I think is supposed to be anyway. Now I wouldn't say this was the best off of X, obviously you'll see that later on, but I never truly hated this. It's a great slow dance song through and through, and I'm glad it was as big as it was.
