Well, she clearly loves Joe. All I can say about the song. I'm happy for her, but this isn't all that interesting of a song. It's pretty boring, at least for me.

This sounds like Chainsmokers filler that might make the EP but not the album. It's too bad because the production is very good. They better promote the hell out of "Ready For It."

I like it, it kind of reminds me of You Are In Love in a way, and I loved that song. It's not great, but it's decent I guess I could say. It's better than Gorgeous though.

The song is cute, but goes nowhere. I'm still looking for the chorus though. Did anyone find it? :|

The song is cute, but goes nowhere. I'm still looking for the chorus though. Did anyone find it? Chorus: Cause my baby's fit like a daydream Walking with his head down I'm the one he's walking to So call it what you want yeah, call it what you want to My baby's fly like a jet stream High above the whole scene Loves me like I'm brand new So call it what you want yeah, call it what you want to

This would be a lot better if the chorus stood out from the verses. The lyrics and production are there, but the song as a whole could have been executed better.

Good lord has she forgotten how to write a pop chorus?
There are some decent lyrics here (the ones likely directed at Kim and Kanye) but the chorus is the weakest part (once again, as with the previous three tracks), and Joe Alwyn is booooring (probably because he is very private about his life unlike every other guy she has dated) All these lyrics about how cute he is? Zzz...

This is a cute album track, I guess. Considering how weak the other songs are, though, she needed to come harder. The lyrics are Katy Perry Witness level cliche. She was actually inspired by Katy's iconic bop "Hey Hey Hey"! "'Cause I can be zen and I can be the storm, yeah Smell like a rose and I pierce like a thorn, yeah" "All my flowers grew back as thorns Windows boarded up after the storm"

This is enjoyable. Understated and subdued, but still enjoyable. I like it. B+ for me.

I WANT to like Taylor Swiftโs music since Iโve been a fan since 2008, but Iโm not going to be blind to the fact everything she has released thus far off this record pales completely in comparison to everything beforehand. These lyrics are not deep and clever, theyโre literally no better to anything off of Witness, and these melodies are snoozefests.

I like this. I don't love it yet. When it came back to the verse after the "my baby" part I thought "This WASN'T the chorus. Don't mock me". I was pretty convinced this was a breakdown and then moved to a second verse. I thought "the chorus isn't here yet". But then I realized that we wouldn't get a big chorus with higher notes. That's a bummer :( It would've been great.
However, I always end up sticking with the chill songs, even the ones I didn't like at first. So this'll never be a fave but it will have longevity.

Honestly I think the lyrics and everything would've fit way better to a stripped-back production. Like, piano-driven, almost. I like the production and the song itself each separately; together, it does nothing and goes nowhere.
The fact that one of the most reliable writers in the world has basically given us 4 duds in a row is striking.

This might actually be my favorite track released so far from reputation along with "...Ready for It?" tbh. It's more laid-back, and different from the previous three tracks that were released. If the chorus was a bit stronger, I totally could've seen this as a single.

I like this. The production is dreamy. I also echo the sentiments that the chorus isn't as hard-hitting as it could have been and doesn't stand out because of how it's sung similarly as the verses. This is a good album track. I definitely like this a lot more than "Gorgeous."

This is far better than RFI and Gorgeous. Not a single, but this would have been a welcome album track on the last album, and with different production, on the three albums before that.
I disagree about the song and production not meshing too. A more stripped back production would largely move it to "Country Album track #573493" territory, the dreamy production actually makes up for the lack of super blatant pop hook imo.

This isn't crappy, but it's kind of... inconsequential? Bland?
Frankly, nothing so far BANGS in a poptastic way like "Blank Space" or any of the other singles off the previous album. Say what you will about Taylor, but you could always count on her for a killer melody, hook and chorus. What's gotten into her?

I love this song, it's really amazing and on par with most slow songs on 1989. Love the production and the lyrics. And for the people saying this doesn't hit enough, do you really expect her to give us another single right now, especially with the RFI situation?

this is lovely. a minimalistic, chill, subdued ballad with enough good writing for me to get into it.
that said, i'm still a bit disappointed by the choruses in all the songs so far. none of them are natural earworms that got stuck in your head without feeling forced

I'll call this something, but you guys won't like it. "minimalistic" is not something I look for in music. Doesn't she have anything on this new album like "Style"?

Verses made me roll my eyes, on a song that's supposed to be all 'I'm in love and it's making me forget all the s**t' she is STILL taking swipes and opining about 'poor widdle misunderstood me'. Girl, do you HAVE to do that on like every song this record? That was LWYMMD's job.
I actually picked up on the chorus right away, so I disagree with the comments it has none, but it's way subtle and could have been defined better by the production. Still, this is weak. LWYMMD/RFI remain the best things this era has had to offer so far.

I really like that song. My 2nd favourite after Look What You Made Me Do. Ready For It would be the 3rd one.
