When was the last time a song spent 3 weeks at #1 only to be kicked off after its 20th week on the chart? That looks like what's going to happen to LWYMMD.

Damn she’s prolly gonna be back on the Hot 100 next week She better be. This will be the 5th year in a row that she's shown up earlier and earlier every year. She's also been on Spotify's Top 50 since the day before Thanksgiving, and she's now #16 on Spotify.

Born This Way spent double the time at #1 though with 6 weeks, AND it was a #1 debut. Would you consider those songs to be "flops"? On one hand, very few artists get to spend 3+ weeks at #1. On the other hand, a lot more is generally to be expected from an artist in their position. Especially after you've been #1 for three or six weeks in a row. 20 weeks is kinda like a bare minimum for what I would consider to be a big hit. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer, as "flop" is a very subjective term. Born This Way is still listed as #18 year-end.

Harlem Shake spent 5 weeks at #1 and was removed after 20 weeks. It was #70 during the last week.

Damn she’s prolly gonna be back on the Hot 100 next week Probably? It's a done deal. The song almost re-entered on the latest chart. It's currently top 20 (for the sales week) at iTunes, top 20 at Spotify for the streaming week, and is gaining in airplay. I don't see how it can miss re-entering.

Harlem Shake and Born This Way are the recent ones that come to mind (Hold It Against Me only spent 1 week at #1 and spent 17 weeks on the chart total).

I wouldn't consider it a flop, but it's performance was underwhelming just in the U.S. (Born This Way was a hit everywhere else). But it was a big digital hit (4 million copies sold, it was airplay that held it back, despite peaking at #1 on radio, it crashed fast, and was #40 on the year end airplay, which is awfully low for a #1 hit). Even Alejandro and Lovegame did better on radio. Hold It Against Me, on the other hand, may not be a flop, but it was definitely an underperformance (#1 peak, 10 weeks in top 50, 17 weeks overall, #60 year end).

^ The old expression was "Golden Turkey" - High Peak due to pent-up demand and / or serious Label pushing, creates a hit on paper, but fast fall leaves a disappointing legacy.

wondering what the predictors on this forum have in store for BTS's "mic drop" remix. not a predictor (so do NOT quote me on this) but I personally do think something like top 60 or top 50. top 70 at least tbh. but I'm an amateur at chart predictions so…

Nice to see a Korean act possibly crack the top 40 this week.
It reminds me that CL's Lifted deserved more than 1 week on the charts.

I don't think any formula change went into effect last week. I have no idea why Bank Account went up that much. For a sec, I thought it was the video, but then I realized that the video came out the same day as Walk On Water, which really makes no sense at all. Bank Account dipped down a bunch last week when Walk on Water debuted. I really hope they didn't pull a "Gucci Gang" with it and just forget to count the YouTube views that week. That would be extremely unprofessional. I can't see any other out of the ordinary trap-related activity this week. Gummo, Pick It Up, Betrayed, and Rubbin Off The Paint all just seem to be hits beginning to gain traction. I don't think the 4 of those songs going up this week really have anything to do with one another.

I'd say the biggest solo single of his career by far.

And since you say "solo" I guess you aren't including "Uptown Funk," but honestly, apart from Mark Ronson having a technical credit, "Uptown Funk" is no less a Bruno Mars song than "That's What I Like" or others. I mean, Ronson produced on "Locked Out of Heaven," too, he just isn't credited as an artist on it.

Bruno Mars is credited as a featured artist on Uptown Funk and a solo artist on Locked Out of Heaven. Sure Uptown Funk wouldn't be what it is without Bruno, but he is still only credited as a feature. Same with "Locked." Ronson will forever be credited as a producer, and Bruno will forever be credited as a feature on "Uptown" and nothing more. So yes, I'd say that That's What I Like is Bruno's biggest solo radio single by far in the US. **Just noticed I didn't say radio single initially.
