What are some of your favorite Oldies? I love listening to Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Buddy Holly, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, and all that stuff but I know that there's a lot of older music I haven't heard of so I'd love to listen to any of your recommendations. Thanks for sharing

What is considered an "Oldie?" Seriously? :sip2: Anyway for the OP I'd say Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Chubby Checker.

What is considered an "Oldie?" My understanding is that it's music, usually considered classic, anywhere from the 50s to early 80s but anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that

What is considered an "Oldie?" Seriously? Apparently there's something wrong with asking for clarification on what the OP meant by the question?

Does Beethoven count? That aside... The Beatles, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Chuck Berry, Laura Nyro, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Scott Joplin, Stray Cats, The Andrews Sisters.
To name a few. Also, I'm not sure if some of these count at "oldies", but it is definitely very old music.

One of my favorite beat sequences is before the chorus and at the end of Carole King's "It's Too Late"

Most of the 20 somethings I work with think that Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are the artists their grandparents listened to. Assuming they even know who any of them are.

I thought 25 years old is what was considered an "oldie" song. Wait Pulse Board members for the day when you flip on an oldie station and a song is on there that you don't consider an oldie.... Oh did I feel old in the mid 2000's when I heard a couple of Donna Summer and The Pointer Sisters songs on there that I grew up with.... Ugh.... Talk about a slap to the face when I insisted these songs weren't that old only to count back and realized that 25 years had past.

I'm 22 and my generation lived through the Circus and Femme Fatale eras... Those 20 somethings you work can't be above 16 if they didn't live through at least part of her post-comeback eras. They are around 20 to 25. The ones that do know Ariana, Miley, and Selena, etc. find them to be "over the hill" too. WHY????????
