hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=310037Saturday, January 13, 2018 WILL CAMILA BATTLE BARNUM FOR #1?As of now, it looks like a battle at the top of our next chart, as Camila Cabello will try to unseat The Greatest Showman’s ST from atop the HITS Top 50, where it's spent the last two weeks. Cabello is projecting to 75-85k in total activity after one full day of sales and streams, 43-48k of that in album sales. The P.T. Barnum-inspired musical Showman saw only a modest drop last week after "This Is Me" won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song. If the soundtrack maintains its momentum and registers a similar, single-digit drop next week, it could be looking at a third week at #1. However, a 20% or greater decline should clear the way for Cabello to take the lead. Stay tuned for updates.

That's pretty bad for someone as aggressively pushed as Camila. She's doing Demi numbers.

LOL those SPS #'s seem off for Camila. If she SELLS 48k, she should reach 100k with SPS. She has several songs in top 50 and two in top 10 on Spotify

Those numbers for Camila are quite a bit below what I expected. Thought she would be able to do 150k SPS and 80-100k in sales. The figures could trend up though!

I think it might clear 100k. The streams have been surprisingly strong.
None of the new pop acts is gonna sell much anyways, so those numbers seem decent IMO.

I think 80-100k was aiming way too high. Keep in mind fifth harmony’s best selling album sold 150k total. These girls, solo or not, can’t move albums.

HITS has added this paragraph:
"As we write this, Showman and Camila are the #1 and #2 albums at iTunes, where the latter's "Havana" is the #2 track, and her new single, "Never Be the Same," is Top 15. And however she fares in her first week, Cabello appears due for a long run, as multiple tracks continue to stream and sell."

That is about what I expected. She is basically starting from zero, in January, and one big hit doesn't guarantee huge album sales. I am unsure why she would be doing better than Demi numbers since Demi herself took years upon years of building a fanbase and name and several big hits to get to "Demi" numbers. I bet these will trend upward and then her new single will smash, holding it steady. I think she has a really good shot of outselling Fifth Harmony's 150K best seller lol.

Honestly, Demi numbers has decreased over the years. I’m not surprised by the forecast. It’s what I would’ve predicted. If anything, she’s a little above what I would’ve guessed. And she’s a strong streamer. (That’s the real difference between this release and 5H’s last release. 5H debuted with 32k in sales but only 46k sps. Cam’s pure sales are a little higher, but her streaming power decimates 5H’s).

Yeah, I don't know why anyone would've expected better from her when Fifth Harmony's albums failed to get certified aluminum.

Yeah, I don't know why anyone would've expected better from her when Fifth Harmony's albums failed to get certified aluminum. Mainly because of how big "Havannah" is. I was expecting her to do similar to what Kesha & Meghan Trainor have done before in Q1 with a big hit. Plus she had a bit of a fanbase from being in 5H.

Hits upgraded its projections to 48-53K in sales, 85-95K in consumption.

^ hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=310037Sunday, January 14, 2018 WILL CAMILA BATTLE BARNUM FOR #1? (UPDATE)At the moment, it looks like a battle is brewing at the top of our next chart, as SYCO/Epic's Camila Cabello will try to unseat The Greatest Showman’s ST from atop the HITS Top 50, where it's spent the last two weeks. Cabello is now projecting to 85-95k in total activity and 48-53k in album sales. The P.T. Barnum-inspired musical Showman (Atlantic) saw only a modest drop last week after "This Is Me" won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song. If the soundtrack maintains its momentum and registers a similar, single-digit drop next week, it could be looking at a third week at #1. However, a 20% or greater decline should clear the way for Cabello to take the lead. Showman and Camila remain the #1 and #2 albums at iTunes, where the latter's "Havana" is the #2 track, and her new single, "Never Be the Same," is Top 15. And however she fares in her first week, Cabello appears due for a long run, as multiple tracks continue to stream and sell. With response to the album overwhelmingly positive, "Havana" has unseated Post Malone's "rockstar" from the #1 spot globally at Spotify. With the exception of 12/23-25, when Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" was the vintage star atop the streamery's tree, "rockstar" has been Spotify's most-played song on the planet since 9/17, a total of 116 days. Since Friday, all 11 tracks from Cabello's album have been in the Global Spotify Top 200.

it's decent. you can't expect big numbers from typical pop girl with one hit. especially in this streaming days where sps are spread out. I heard it's bigger than 5H's album did.. so she is doing good. not to mention she's doing good in streaming.

Camila is doing a makeup bundle. That's a new one. There's also an "album only" option that allows you to buy her album for $3.50, meeting Billboard's minimum pricing threshold. The offer expires on Friday morning.

The Pop girls all go through this at first, especially if they're not tabloid wh0res or sh*t starters. With sales in the toilet, that's about how much I was expecting for her.
"Havana" is still that BOP though.

I can't believe that tweet is a thing...i understand she's with loreal and all but this sounds pretty desperate for a person like her considering she has a stable fanbase and most of her fanbase was from 5h & she has the most monthly listeners by a female on spotify , had a smash hit in Havana which should've gained her some more fans if you take that all into account she shouldn't have to go through these measures to sell a album unless her fans don't buy her music 🤔 which should be Totally false right?

Considering that it's almost guaranteed Camila will collect SPS of 25k for months to come, it's funny that you are declaring it as a flop but whatever floats your boat.

Hasn’t Camilla’s strengths always been in the ability to sell radio candy and create online buzz? I think there’s where her mojo works in this market.
She’s Jason Derulo with a sizeable online Stan base. Hit singles, twitter trends and solid streaming are her future methinks.

I can't shade them at all for trying to move the album in new and creative ways like that. It's basically the same as the ticket bundles that everyone is doing. It's 2018. In order to move albums they gotta come up with interesting, cheaper ways to market the albums. Otherwise why would people buy it when they can stream it for free on Spotify?

I legit can't think of many artists who have never done any type of deal whether it is a ticket bundle or some kind of special buy this album at Target and get a magazine type thing. Or, deep discounts of some sort. It is strange to me that people are still calling it cheating lol. Like, its 2018, get with the times.
