What are some example of songs that flopped upon release but would more then likely do well if they were released now, assuming decent promotion?
In addition to most rap/trap songs, I would say Kids by MGMT. Despite a modest peak on the alt charts and not doing anything on pop, it gets a ton of recurrent airplay today and I really think it would smash if it was released today.

IMO I think Get Outta My Way by Kylie Minogue was pretty ahead of its time By like 2 years
Britney's HIAM also felt the same

Definitely not a flop, but The Motto would have been bigger like 2-3 years later I think.

Euphoria by Loreen, while not at all a flop in Europe wasn't even pushed in the U.S. Something tells me that if it came out in 2014 or 15 then it would've at least gotten some traction simply because of how often European hits were being released over here at that time.

I guess many songs that were released before the artist had big mainstream breakthrough. For example "King Kunta" and others from TPAB could probably be hits if they were released now, after Damn

I mean, it wasn't expected to do anything, but my favourite song, The Morning, could have done something, if it were released now.

I guess many songs that were released before the artist had big mainstream breakthrough This is basically what I'm thinking for this question. Post Malone's "Deja Vu" could be another one.

Britney's HIAM also felt the same HIAM went on to peak at #1 on the Hot 100.

Bitch Better Have My Money would have probably fared better now with streaming being such a huge part of the charts.

Britney's HIAM also felt the same HIAM went peaked at #1 on the Hot 100. And #4 at CHR. Seven years later it might well be a big hit now, but not much bigger since it was pretty huge originally. Surprisingly in retrospect, "Toxic" only hit #9 on the Hot 100, though #1 at CHR. While obviously not a flop I think it might well be a bigger Hot 100 hit now, in light of all the recurrent airplay it gets. Most of the Blackout era singles (except "Gimme More") weren't big hits at the time but quite likely would have done better in the years since.

Beyonce - Partition Kelly Osbourne - One Word (unironically the song fits more to the current mainstream music than back in 2005. Had it been released now by a more popular singer it probably would've been a hit like Blinding Lights/Running Up That Hill/Flowers IMO.)

as much as khalid is yesterday's news, i have to believe lonely by him and billie eilish would be huge if released today, it having solidly over a billion streams is wild for a song that peaked in the 70z

Unfortunately, I think the wave that propelled βUptown Funkβ to being the biggest song of the 2010s, wouldnβt have happened nearly 10 years later had it been released today.
Probably a Top 10 hit or small No. 1 with Brunoβs name.
