I just realized if How Long is #21 again this week, it will have the rare accomplishment of all its chart statistics being the same number!
21/21/21/21 (this week/last week/peak position/weeks on chart)
and, it was also #21 2 weeks ago, so there's that to throw in as well for the premium version of the chart!

So did Chaimsmokers flop with their last single? Yeah it seems like it, though I'm not sure if it was an official radio-promoted single. that would be something though if their next era flopped. It actually seems to be a pattern with many duos throughout history: they have one or two albums that are huge, and they suddenly tank after that, either due to them splitting up, some controversy, or their follow-up just being poorly received. It happened with Wham!, Milli Vanilli, Outkast, LMFAO, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis... I don't know what it is with duos that seem to make them particularly unstable. |

I feel like they're in a position to throw some different styles out there - via low key releases - and see what happens. And then just move on if it doesn't take them in a different direction. It's also a chance to release some personal stuff that isn't necessarily radio friendly. Even make a little extra cash. Keeps their name in the hat. I'm sure their days are numbered regardless. *sigh* I thought FOR SURE they were a one-and-done with #Selfie, so they've already won life. |

Finesse is about to hit number 1 on radio in a couple more days and Bartier Cardi is trying to gain on radio ? It's only a matter of time before GP becomes number 1 on radio so I'll enjoy finesse being number 1 till that happens .

Is a radio promoted single still needed in today’s music climate? I would think if an artist on the scale of Chainsmokers released a song to Spotify or YouTube, that would be sufficient for it to hit, and for radio to catch on.

They were revealed to be frauds who lip synced to two other men's singing. They were simply hired because they "looked better" than the actual singers. The ONLY time the Grammy's ever took back an award was for the one they gave Milli Vanilli for BNA in 1989. If you search the Grammy archives, it now shows no award given out for BNA for that year; it's like it never even existed. |

Wham! was a vehicle for a George Michael solo career. You saw that even in the Wham! albums. Careless Whisper was credited to Wham! featuring George Michael.
In Milli Vanilli's case, it was indeed a "controversy" that did them in, the aforementioned lip-synching scandal.

Him & I isn't doing so hot outside of radio, it's on the edge of the top 40 on both Spotify and iTunes. If it ends up going top 10, it'll be similar to how New Rules was eventually pulled up by its airplay after it had peaked in other metrics.
