What artists have their first hit getting the most airplay now, but it wasn't the artist's biggest hit? I hear "Tell It To My Heart" much more than any other Taylor Dayne song. It was her first career hit, but it's tied for sixth out of her ten songs that charted in Billboard Hot 100 position. I recently read that before she was famous, she performed at a club one town away from me.

I think by numbers it may have gotten the most points, but I hear Just Dance the most out of Lady Gaga's hits, even though Poker Face seemed to be bigger at their peaks.

Madonna's Holiday and Borderline immediately come to mind. I hear them on the oldies stations in town more than her other, better-charting 80s songs. Just more evidence that peaks are of the moment - and often circumstantial - and not indicative of how well they'll hold up as time marches on.

It wasn't his first solo hit (actually his second of many) but Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" only peaked at #19. Yet it now gets more airplay than most of his later, higher-charting ones.
It's hard to say what Billy Joel's most replayed hit is, but his first, "Piano Man" would likely be a contender despite only reaching #25. It certainly gets replayed more than the majority of his bigger hits.

Closer and Miss Independent are played on the radio way more than So Sick.

Always hear Hero or Always Be My Baby but hardly ever hear One Sweet Day or Vision Of Love.

The Final Countdown gets tons more airplay than Carrie does even though the latter was a bigger hit at the time.
Corey Hart's first hit was Sunglasses at Night, and it gets more airplay nowadays than Never Surrender does.
Your Song was Elton John's first hit here in America, and it only hit #8, yet it's one of his most played songs on the radio now.
Pat Benatar. Hit Me With Your Best Shot probably gets more airplay than Love is a Battlefield.
Yellow by Coldplay still gets plenty of airplay despite the fact that it missed the top 40 entirely here in America.
Runaway by Bon Jovi. Only hit #39 but gets tons of recurrent airplay nowadays.
Kim Wilde's Kids in America is certainly way better known than her cover of You Keep Me Hangin' On.

I still hear One Sweet Day and Vision of Love being played alot on A/C and R&B stations on the radio.
With Taylor Dayne, I guess it depends on which radio station you tune in. I mostly hear them play "I'll Always Love You" on the A/C station more than her dance hits.
Bills, Bills, Bills was Destiny's Child's first hit, but I mostly hear Say My Name and Independent Women on the radio.

Glenn Medeiros' "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You" only got to #12 but that gets played all the time and his #1 hit "She Ain't Worth It" is pretty much forgotten.
Gloria Estefan is always getting airplay for "Turn the Beat Around" & "Everlasting Love" both missed the top 10 (the latter only peaking at #27).

The Cover Girls' first single was "Show Me" and that missed the Top 40, but I still hear that way more often than all five of their actual Top 40 hits.

Pat Benatar. Hit Me With Your Best Shot probably gets more airplay than Love is a Battlefield. Actually "Heartbreaker" was Pat Benatar's first hit, though that does get a lot of replay now, as do Best Shot and Battlefield (and We Belong) which all charted much higher.
