i saw the video and heard the song today on Muchmusic... the song is somewhat catchy... but the band is ultimately very forgetable...

Very boring and like he said, somewhat catchy, cannot see this doing much. The guitar intro was very cool but the rest just wasn't that great. Hopefully, this isn't a sign of things to come on "Coral Fang".
Distillers were robbed last year with "City Of Angels". Just thought I should say that.

Not a big fan of this one. "City of Angels" was decent though.

I never got much into "City Of Angels" (probably the least favorite of the four tracks I heard from its album) but after two plays, I'm liking this one more. But even if I hated it, it wouldn't stop me from saying this is one of the bands that alternative really should be playing.

Hmm, that's surprising. "City of Angels" is by far my favorite song they've ever done.
Coral Fang is good, but there doesn't seem to be any amazing songs on it. It's too early to tell how I like it compared to album #2. Both are better than album #1.
I wish Brody hadn't walked out on Tim, but that's none of my business. He just loved her so much and it was great to see a marriage between the singers of two excellent punk bands. Brody and Josh Homme? I just don't get it.
At any rate "Drain the Blood" is pretty good, but not as good as I expected it to be. I wanted them to take alt. radio by storm, but at best, I could only see this reaching the Top 25, being their first bona fide hit. And I don't pay attention to spin totals from week to week, but it probably won't even come close to that.
I'm bummed because I unknowingly bought the censored album art for Coral Fang. The music is still explicit, but I didn't know there was different artwork when I went to buy it. The real cover has a drawing of a naked woman crucified, gushing blood from the ribs. On the back, still gushing blood, you can see a fetus inside her womb.
When I looked up the release date on Amazon, I saw the cuddly zoo animals cover that I bought. And when I saw Best Buy had it for $8.99, I went and bought it and that's all they had. So I open it up and there's a note saying I didn't get the original artwork. Man, I was bummed. I actually like the zoo animal picture better than the crucifix picture. It's just, I can't stand buying anything that's been censored.

Pay no attention to my post above, I have had time to let this grow on me and I must say I am totally digging it.
I have yet to hear "Coral Fang", and I probably won't for awhile due to so many awesome cds to purchase out there, but if "Drain The Blood" is a sign of things to expect on "Coral Fang"...than I am all for it.
