Chesney would've really needed a tour and ticket bundle, can't see many acts selling over 100k (pure sales) without it any more.

^^^ I could of seen a few artists still do 100 thousand pure sales but so many cd sections in stores are awful... Hasn't even Best Buy or one of the other big music retailers even stopped or are stopping selling cd's?? ^^^

I was at first surprised by Kenny Chesney's numbers, but having seen Cosmic Hallelujah open with 79k in pure sales and 89k in SPS ("Noise" underperformed in his standards whereas "Get Along" is did just fine so I guess there's that) maybe it's not so surprising.

Remember when Daughtry was a big thing? I really thought he would have a lot more longevity.

Hasn't even Best Buy or one of the other big music retailers even stopped or are stopping selling cd's?? ^^^ Yep - Best Buy is done I was there a couple of weeks ago and there was a very small messed up selection. It looked like they may of had 1 or 2 new cd's but most were a year or more old. Sad..... Again i didn't help the cause. I got used to hand picking songs on ITunes and just buying cd's from a few artists.

"officially" they were done selling CDs July 1
What you saw was probably just an attempt to clear their stock

^I'm also away, but here's the HDD article as usual:
Friday, August 3, 2018
In an incredibly shocking turn of events, Drake’s Scorpion (YMCMB/Republic) manages to hold down the #1 spot on our Top 50 Chart, this time with 147k. For those of you keeping track, this is the star’s fifth consecutive week at #1. His RTD is currently hovering around 1.7m.
Kenny Chesney scores the week’s biggest bow, as his first release through Blue Chair/Warner Nashville, Songs for the Saints, debuts at #2 with 81k.
Kenny included, a total of five new releases make the Top 20 this week. Halestorm’s Vicious (Atlantic) is #8, Daughtry’s Cage to Rattle (19/RCA) appears at #10 and Cody Jinks’ Lifers (Rounder) enters at #11, while G Herbo & Southside’s Swervo (Epic) takes the #17 spot.
Meanwhile, Grade A/Interscope’s Juice WRLD makes one of the more noteworthy moves, jumping back into the Top 5 with Goodbye & Good Riddance. His hit single, “Lucid Dreams,” can also be found at #3 on our Song Revenue Chart and #4 on our Streaming Songs Chart.
When it comes to market share, UMG is #1 with 57%, WMG follows with 29% and SME is #3 with 12%, while the indies claim 2%.
Streeting this week are sets from Grand Hustle/Epic’s Travis Scott, Warner Bros.’ Mac Miller, Def Jam’s YG, Island’s Iggy Azalea, N-Less/Interscope’s Moneybagg Yo and RCA’s H.E.R.
In other news, it’s International Beer Day! Remember shotgunning doesn’t work with bottles. We learned this the hard way.

Whoa big increase from the first projections for Chesney
That G-Herbo thing was #2 on Apple Music for whole week so that's as far as it gets an artist on a usual week it seems.
