Maybe she'll get #1 on the Social 50 if she can't on the Billboard 200? Nah, who am I kidding? BTS is going to be there till the end of time.

Nicki and her team seem to have pulled all the stops to get her album a #1 debut. There's a bus in New York right now selling CDs of her album. I hope it works out. People have been mocking her all week on social media and a #2 debut will just fan that flame. But the physical isn't out? That's weird. A #2 debut wouldn't be anything to scoff at and she has missed the top spot before, the only reason why it would probably be stinging is because she puts so much emphasis on her chart stats a sales so it would give her detractors easy draggable ammo. If she didn't make it such a big deal, no-one would care as much. Anyway, as long as the headlines say she has the #1 album, that's all that will matter. BTS tweeted about the album so unless Kylie includes a copy of "Astroworld" in one of her lipkits... she has it.

It really isn't, especially considering her last project opened at #2, but now after all this adding songs crap, etc... it looks way worse Others add songs too, and I agree, she could've added more promo before this whole week to make it not seem rushed. Usually the others add songs further down the line and not in the middle of the tracking week. Also said songs are either A. a remix or B. a different version that was released as a single i.e. Britney Spears "Slumber Party" with Tinashe and Taylor Swift "Bad Blood" remix with Kendrick. The song she added isn't even her track it's 6ix9ine's that she is just featured on. The elementary rebuttals have got to stop and you have to start backing that up with some examples and sh!t because simply saying "others do it, too" is just simple and dry when it's not on the same level.

The physical is out apparently but it must have like just recently come out. People from Twitter have posted pictures of it at stores and such. Amazon has started shipping apparently

Based on the final tally of hits streaming chart - these are the streaming #'s for
Queen - 120 million streams Astro World - 150 million streams.
Guess bundles/pure sales will determine everything.
Cardi's album did 202 million US streams first week so i guess her record is safe..

I just don’t see your point in bringing that up. Nicki’s debut album opened with over 350k in pure sales, did Cardis? But you didn’t see me posting that in the HDD thread when Cardi’s debut week was happening. Just dumb.

Point being it was still Amazon who decided to sell it at $0.99, whether Lady GaGa's team sold the album to them at $7, $8, $0.11, or $100.

Update: They're playing some annoyingly loud music at the back of the bus. The driver pulled over and got out to get himself a cup of coffee. A crackhead keeps trying to sell me CDs. Who buys CDs in 2018? #QueenNickiBus

guess rihanna gonna have streaming problems too huh ? Your point? She won’t have Cardi’s steaming numbers, that’s for sure. There are obviously exceptions for artists who have had strong careers on multiple formats. Hannah Montana (sorry, Miley Cyrus...cus they're the same person) released her first album in 2006, what do you think her streaming numbers are gonna look like on the next album (provided there is one)? Think she'll match Cardi's? WHAT? LMFAO. Rihanna is the "Most Streamed" Female Artist of All-Time on Spotify, both with and without features, and she is the "Most Subscribed" Female Artist on Spotify and only second to Ed Sheeran overall. Rihanna has released only one album in the Streaming era, and she has yet to release any single preceeding her new album so how can you 'be sure' that she won't break Cardi B's streaming numbers? Rihanna was also named the "Most Streamed" Female Artist on Global Spotify from 2015-2017. If there is any Female artist that could achieve record breaking streaming numbers among Female acts with a properly executed release... it's Rihanna (or Adele). The only reason why ANTI didn't is because it had a terrible release, with ZERO Spotify promo. at the time, and yet it's still had collosal streaming longevity.

You’re right, I misspoke. Rihanna is one of the few who can manage that but mainly because she’s had a long career across multiple formats (Pop, Urban, etc...). Comparing Nicki to her is apples and orange.

Aretha Franklin's 30 Greatest Hits is reported to have sold 10k yesterday and should chart in the Billboard 200.

I admire Nicki and her team for pulling all the damn spots to get a #1 album. Damn right we would hope to be doing the same damn thing if we were artists (whether we did it or not because of how we would look is another story). With that said, it does bug me that there's all these gimmicks that one can do to, in a way, manipulate the outcome of sales and chart positions. It's a shame that it can't just be the music that speaks for itself. Billboard, Nielsen, etc. should really figure out a way to regulate this to keep it from getting out of control.

It's a shame that it can't just be the music that speaks for itself. Billboard, Nielsen, etc. should really figure out a way to regulate this to keep it from getting out of control. I feel you. Although, I do think that from a broad industry perspective, it probably benefits all aspects of the industry to shift the most units possible. I mean, the whole TEA (track equivalent album) thing was created at least partially to help inflate dire and declining album sales across the board. So... I'm not sure it's in Nielsen or Billboard's best interest to make more rules to prohibit sales gimmicks that are ultimately helping to keep quarter-to-quarter, year-over-year units shifted above water. A price minimum makes sense, but I'm not sure how far they'll go beyond that. Thoughts?
