#18 is more than double the airplay that #23 is. I can’t see the song beating its previous peak position :( But it’s slamming now!

It’s truly unbelievable that this song has spent 5 months at #1 on iTunes, has more than a billion streams, went NUMBER ONE on the Hot 100, won an Oscar and is a huge cultural phenomenon... yet pop radio still refused to play it for half a year until its chart run is finally ending.
(another reason why radio needs to be reduced/eliminated from the billboard formula)

You want to talk about this going to #1 on the Hot 100 and in the same breath saying airplay shouldn't be a factor in the chart? LMAO this would NEVER have gone to #1 if it weren't for radio.

Pop radio, not overall airplay. This currently has a pop peak of #20 (on Mediabase at least).

It only peaked at 23 in billboard’s mainstream top 40 though, so I hope it can get a top 20 peak over there at least

We’re capable of holding two thoughts at once. Pop radio is trash for ignoring the song for months when it was clearly a massive hit, and at the same time radio holds a disproportionate influence on the charts.

I am kind of annoyed at radio for abandoning this song so early. But I’m glad they’ve picked back up on it even though they should’ve never gotten rid of it so quickly because I still love this song a lot and for it to have this much success (still being #1 on iTunes) is just amazing.

Its streaming was not strong enough to compete with many of the #1 hits from October through January.

It would’ve been in the top 20 for many more weeks. It would’ve been a number one with many more points than it had. It could be much higher in the yearend chart than it’ll be. You know it’s not only about being a number one with a few weeks in the top 10... Anyway good to see pop radio doing something about it even if late

Why? It had a lot less airplay than 7 Rings the week it went #1. ...and if it weren't for airplay being part of the formula it wouldn't have hit #1 at all. My point was that all the components (including airplay) added up to it getting the #1 at the time it did, which it would never have done if it weren't for airplay ramping up post-Oscars win, because streaming and sales weren't cutting it.

A few better stats on some lists is nice, but in the end, this could have never charted at all and the impact of the song itself still would be incredible, which is really all that matters in the end. Everyone knows this is a hit and cultural moment, the stats aren't needed for that.

I need the Hot AC/AC bullet to stop collapsing
Is the big increase on Pop due to it being played on AT40?

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's "Shallow" rebounds 9-7 on the Hot 100 after leading the March 9-dated chart. The ballad rules Digital Song Sales for a ninth week (32,000, down 8 percent), extending Gaga's longest command among her six No. 1s and marking the chart's longest-running leader since Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," featuring Justin Bieber, ran up a record 17 weeks at No. 1 in 2017. On Radio Songs, "Shallow" reaches another new high, pushing 14-12 (55.1 million, up 5 percent).
Also, it is the second song with biggest overall AI increase just behind Sucker.

I heard this 3 times last night on Kiss 108 in Boston. I was in the car for almost four hours so I'm assuming it's at or near power rotation there. I think it's num.10 in the country for radio stations. Three other stations in Boston play this as well so this is being HEARD in this area. lol
