Similar to the year-end which is based on the biggest songs inside a specific year, this is a list of biggest Hot 100 hits by release year. This helps songs split between years: i.e., a song being #2 on a 2019 Year-End and #10 on a 2020 Year-End ending up with a bigger overall chart run than the #1 song of either year.
I simply deemed the year a song debuted on Hot 100 as the release year.
Blue indicates this song was not a year-end #1!
