Obviously this album didn't come out on 9/16, so a title chamge is in order.

I didn't dislike Wilder Mind but I hope they took some lessons from the lukewarm reception that album got. Looking forward to hearing this project.

Yeah...I kinda wrote them off after Wilder Mind, despite being OBSESSED with them for their first two eras (though the Wilder Mind material did sound great live). New single is a step in the right direction and I am excited that the album is coming pretty soon.

Amazing album!!!
Currently has a 64 on Metacritic, only behind Sigh No More which received a 68.

Received the CD today (thanks Amazon!) Too bad my Mariah album was censored LOL but whatever. I look forward to listening to the new Mumford today!

Previewing this on Itunes right now, sounds like they're back to their glory days (first two albums imo), which I am thrilled about.

Their best album. I feel like all the other albums were practice for this. Marcus is in peak vocal form and the artistry and musicianship behind every one of these songs is astonishing. I also didn't think they would pull off a pop sound as well as they did with Rose of Sharon and Picture You. Forever had me in tears. A+

That's a big pronouncement right there! I'm about to dig into the album and I'm pumped for it.

Yeah the album's pretty chill. I much prefer Sigh No More and Babel but for me this is on par with Wilder Mind.

"42" will feature in a 3 1/2-minute segment on tonight's "This is Us" Thanksgiving episode.

Early estimates have this debuting around 220k, just a tiny bit short of Wilder Mind. That's better than I expected, to be honest. Guiding Light hasn't been a huge hit but Mumford can still move albums.

Listening to songs from this album and songs from Sigh No More and Babel back-to-back highlights just how far Mumford has fallen in terms of songwriting and just how much they've lost a unique sound. It's unfortunate. I don't hate Delta but I wish I could get another taste of the deep metaphorical writing that peppered their first two albums.

The sound is different, for sure, but I think the writing on Delta is a bit above the writing on Babel.

I'm not gonna say your response cracks me up because it's a legitimate opinion, but I disagree with that songwriting analysis. Regarding my unique sound comment, I'm not saying they shouldn't sound different from the music they were making 6+ years ago, they can sound however they want. It's just that, IMO, their sound was unique back then while today it's very run-of-the-mill, just very common, nothing that sets them apart, nothing particularly interesting.
