To counteract the thread about dated songs, how about timeless ones
I feel like Closer would fit into this category pretty well. I could see it being a singalong anthem the same way songs like Bohemian Rhapsody and Don't Stop Believin are.
Uptown Funk, Attention, and to an extent, We Found Love as well tbh

Uptown Funk, Attention, and to an extent, We Found Love as well tbh Speaking of lasting singalong anthems, I think "We Are Young" could be that, even if some in the other thread are calling it dated. I think some (not all) songs from big pop acts like Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift will hold up. Most of Adele's hits too, especially "Hello" and the 21-era hits.

Ed Sheeran - Perfect Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud Shape Of You? You literally forgot his biggest song/best selling (SPS) song of the decade. I chose what I felt were the most universally memorable songs. Even though tracks like Gangnam Style, Happy, Dark Horse, and Call Me Maybe SOUND dated, I feel as if they will be remembered 20+ years from now. I don't see Shape of You being a part of those group of songs.

Yeah, I could see Black Beatles, I Love It, Congratulations, When I Was Your Man, and Fireflies being a stretch. XO TOUR Llif3 will definitely be remembered imo. Honestly, looking at everything and reading your perspective on this, I realize I either made my list too long or too short.

It did amazing worldwide but again, I don't feel like it has a timeless factor to it. Even though it has that dancehall/tropical influence, it isn't a tropical song. It's not what Ed Sheeran typically sounds like. Hell, the song itself is really out of place with the rest of 2017. Its simple yet sticks in your head.
