Oh crud austin! I completely forgot that this was due tonight! I can come up with a list in a few hours if you're gonna be closing in a few hours (just realized that sounded redundant). I realized the Miranda one was also due tonight, so I’ll space this out. I’ll extend through Friday the 24 :).

CLOSED RECEIVED: 1. None of the songs from this album featured made it into the Top 5 of the Singles Rankdown (I'm Taking The Wheel, 23 Days, In Terms of Love, God Bless The American Housewife). How many make the Top 5 in this Album Rankdown?
2. What will be #1?
3. What will be #12?
4. How did you like this album? How does it stack up with Knock On The Sky for you?

1. None of the songs from this album featured made it into the Top 5 of the Singles Rankdown (I'm Taking The Wheel, 23 Days, In Terms of Love, God Bless The American Housewife). How many make the Top 5 in this Album Rankdown? ALL OF THEM!!!
2. What will be #1? Probably "I'm Taking The Wheel".
3. What will be #12? I'll go out on a limb and say "She Gets What I Deserve". I personally LOVED the song when I listened to it, but then it just kept falling as I made my list... On an album as strong as this one, if people feel the same way as I do, that might be enough to sink it...
4. How did you like this album? How does it stack up with Knock On The Sky for you? Loved this album! Every song is really good!! WAY better than Knock On The Sky, although I did enjoy that album too. I felt this album was more "normal". It still had their signature quirkiness, but they didn't rely on it like a gimmick the way that they did with some of the super weird production choices on KOTS.

We Burn Down LBTrocks ’s list with his #2 song, “Burn Down The House” leaving us first. This one was done in by four #12 rankings and two other #11s. An uptempo rocking song about kissing an ex goodbye and burning down all memories of him, it is definitely the most rock/pop-sounding song on the album. It also had a #2 ranking from ClevelandRox ! Austin’s take:I like this one and this was actually the first song the girls sang at their live show from this record. While touring Sweet Right Here, they had this song in the setlist as a “what’s to come” track. I do think it’s a little loud/different for them, so I am not mad or surprised it didn’t do well here. I like it, but don’t LOVE it. The clue was Kass in a "trim the grass" shot from the GBTAH video.

Yeah, I was like 90% sure one of the loud rock-pop songs would be in last place. This one and "Kickin' In" were very clearly at the bottom of the album for me when I listened for the first time. They did both grow on me quite a bit with subsequent listens, but they still don't have much of a place on this album.

Seems like some of you thought this one was “good when its out of sight!” There was only one #12 ranking here, but a bunch of us ranked this one towards the bottom of the album. This one has long been a fan favorite for one reason or another and was a staple in their love shows from 2006-2012! Austin’s take:I love the acoustic feel on this one and it was really great revisiting it a bunch during the submission process. I don’t think its one I rush back to all the time in their catalog, but I found my love for it coming back with each listen! The clue was a "false start" call, from the lyric: "All the piercing regrets/And false starts"

We say goodbye to the first Sheryl Crow co-write on the album, Healing Side. The other (Whatever It Takes) is still ahead in the Rankdown. One of the few slower songs on an otherwise uptempo record, Healing Side beautifully paints a picture of a narrator not quite on the right side of a breakup. Austin’s take:I was so excited that Kristyn wrote with Sheryl Crow that I think my expectations were so sky high for both songs they never could have lived up to them. Because of that, I have always only liked both songs but never quite became obsessed with them. I think this is a good song but not among my SHeFAVS. The clue was for the line “ don’t you whisper borrowed words” This was in a tie with our #9, and since both had a high ranking of #2, this one lost out since it had two #12s. Everyone's number ones are safe another round!

Despite my last place ranking for “Burn Down the House” I actually did like the song, but the one thought that kept running through my mind is that this sounds like a song better suited for the stage compared to in the studio as an album track. Interestingly enough I see that austin mentioned that this is one of the first songs they performed live from this record. Wait, what in the world is “Healing Side” doing out in the bottom 3? At least I’m joined by Kanenrá:ke and bboat11 in knowing a good country song when we hear one. I’m just sitting here scratching my head at those who put this outside of their top ten...you know it’s ok to get the feels every now and then so don’t be afraid to get in touch with your emotions once in a while.

Wow, thought that "Burn Down the House" would get more support than it did. "Out of My Mind" and "Healing Side" are out too soon.

But yes, this is a great album from beginning to end and will likely go down as my favorite from them.

A song many people predicted would be at the bottom when they sent in their rankings to me (yet not ranking it low themselves!) kicks down the door to reveal itself in 9th place! An in-your-face kiss off song led with killer banjo, ‘Kickin’ In’ has that classic SHeDAISY spunk many fans came to know and love! I was not surprised it didn’t do amazing here, but I am happy it escaped double digits! Austin’s take:This was absolutely one of my jams when the album was new and fresh, but over time it hasn’t aged as well as some of their other songs. That said, it still rocks for me and I love to jam to it, especially in the car. I know the girls were never too fond of this song, so much so that they regretted ever submitting the demo to the label, as the label was OBSESSED with it and it was supposed to be single 2 instead of “In Terms of Love” and then single 3, had ITOL not flopped due to radio being radio. It was a staple in their live show though, and was even used as an encore for a while! I do wish this one had a little more harmony though, you can’t even hear the other two girls IMO. The clue was Jack and Rose who just came off a…. sinking ship!

I'm surprised how long "Kickin' In" lasted here. I do like it a lot despite my last place rank...but like I said in the "Burn Down The House" reveal, these two songs stuck out like sore thumbs with their pop-rock arrangements.
