Saw a thread for this in the country forum so I decided to make a general one. Make some predictions for the 2019 chart year!
Example: Shawn Mendes will get his first #1 on the Hot 100 Girls Like You will return the top 10 and break the record for most weeks in the top 10

I'm gonna go wild on this one 1: Ariana Grande will have a really big year in 2019, even bigger than she was in 2014, having thank u next spending 7-8 weeks at 1, and two more top ten singles from her new album. Fourth single will hit top 20. 2: Adele's new song comes out around late August - early September and debut at 1, its final peak will be 2 weeks at 1 and has more longevity than Hello. 3: High Hopes will end up in the same YE position as I Write Sins Not Tragedies in 2019.
4: Chainsmokers finally redeem themselves with two moderate hits and have longevity.
5: Kendrick Lamar will release a new song and have moderate success, the song will scrape in the top 10.
6: Rihanna drops her new album and the first single will hit 1, the other two will hit at least top 20.
7: Ed Sheeran will release something not as radio friendly as his past hit songs, but will still get minor success like Call Out My Name did with the weeknd.
8: The Weeknd will release radio-friendly material and will be quite successful, just like how Pray For Me did.
9: Drake will drop something new songs and they will sound fresh and unique, unlike his past materials (with the exception of NFW), but they will still be quite successful.
10: NF, Dan + Shay and Bazzi will have more hits that will end up in YE lists. (in 2019, 1 for NF 1 for Dan + Shay and 2 for Bazzi)
11: Amine will return to the charts with "Reel It In" and it will peak in the top 20.
12: Juice WRLD's second hit will be about chasing your dreams.
13: Nothing Breaks Like A Heart by Mark Ronson & Miley Cyrus will become one of the biggest hits in 2019, and will have a YE top 20 position.
14: Post Malone will become more successful with his upcoming new album, spawning more top 20 hits (and there will be more collabs with other artists).
15: "1999" and There's No Way" will become sleeper hits, similar to "I Like Me better" and "Light Down Low", they will peak during June.
16: Walk The Moon will return for real with an actual top 40 hit and it sounds even better than Shut up and dance. (will peak in top 15 and have major longevity.)
17: Pitbull will also return with a Spanish hit song, (and it's a collab with multiple Spanish artists like Enrique, Balvin, Ozuna etc)
18: 2019 will be known for collaborations and surprising returns from artists we won't expect, and a majority of them will have actual hit songs. (like fun. , weezer etc)
19: 2019's music is what you get when you put all the good stuff from 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, and a little bit of 2018 into a blender.
20: Shallow will not be caught between years and make the 2019 YE list.
21: Cardi B will have another big hit in 2019, and it's a collab.
22: Bebe will have 2 new hits in 2019, and they will sound a trillion times better than Meant To Be.
welp, that's enough.

I could see #1, #2, #6, #10, #13, #14, #18, #20, #21, and a maybe to #15 happening.

1. At least 2 Greatest Showman: Reimagined songs would be successful because a pop radio push.
2. The Chainsmokers will get a huge hit by collaborating with a popular hip-hop artist (like Post Malone or Juice WRLD)
3. High Hopes would end at Top 15 in the 2019 YE.
4. Ariana Grande in 2019 would be so great, as thank u, next will spend 7-8 weeks at #1 and a sure contender for Top 5 in the 2019 YE.
5. Drake releases new music this year, but not as successful as Views and Scorpion are, but still get hits from it.
6. A collaboration that will destroy streaming will happen (Drake+Cardi B, Drake+Adele, Drake+Ed Sheeran, Post Malone+Cardi B, Drake+Taylor Swift, Taylor Swift+Ed Sheeran but not the quality of End Game etc.)
7. Lady Gaga returns to the spotlight after A Star Is Born and earns 2 huge Top 5 hits.
8. The Weeknd releases a radio-friendly album with the lead single being critically praised because of the quality being similar to Can't Feel My Face, but also has songs with the quality of The Hills/Call Out My Name.
9. US will finally notice EDM outside of Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers, etc. And artists like Tiesto, Martin Garrix, Alan Walker finally getting their respective Top 20/10 hits.
10. twenty one pilots pushes a single from Trench to pop.
11. Kendrick Lamar once again leads a soundtrack of a movie. (Avengers: End Game eh?)
12. Bruno Mars releases his first single for his more 80's oriented fourth studio album.
13. Country music would be huge again, with artists like Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris leading.
14. Speaking of Kelsea Ballerini, her feature on The Chainsmokers' This Feeling would slowly rise up the charts.
15. Rihanna releases two songs at the same time like Ed Sheeran last year, but the more polarizing song being successful (hitting #1) then the critically praised song being successful too but not at the same success as the other.
16. Bazzi will release another album and features him collaborating with more established artists.
17. Ally Brooke of Fifth Harmony will release her debut single, and the last from the Fifth Harmony to do so.
18. 2-3 members of One Direction will get hits with Louis Tomlinson being the highest of them.
19. Fall Out Boy releases another album that is far from the quality from Mania and more in the quality of American Beauty/American Psycho.
20. NF gets some hits, with the lead single of his next album notching a Top 20 position.
21. Some one hit wonders get their second hits like Gotye, Walk The Moon, Foster The People.
22. Khalid would be featured in more collaborations.
23. "1999" will be a sleeper hit, giving Troye Sivan his first Top 10.

1999 becomes a hit
The Chainsmokers' collab with Juice WRLD goes to the top 10
Billie Eillish gets a top 10 hit either with When The Party's Over or some new single
R9 comes out. Spawns a top 5 hit
Brockhampton release a couple of albums and they get a minor hit
EDM makes a comeback and spawns a few top 40 hits through a strong spotify & radio push
Sweet But Psycho has a chart run similar to I Like Me Better and refuses to leave
Marren Morris gets another hit
Drake's new album flops relative to Scorpion and Views but is still massively successful
Lauv accepts his faith as a one hit wonder
Calvin Harris' relevance fades
Some song from 2-3 years ago becomes massive out of nowhere
While High Hopes is big, it never reaches #1. Instead, it has a chart run similar to Thunder
The Weeknd releases a new album. It sounds like a combination of Starboy and My Dear Melancholy
Weezer gets a hit off of the Black Album
Thank U Next spends 7 weeks at #1 and winds up in the top 20 of the Year End
Yahndi releases and is critically panned and has barely any chart presence

2019 will have relatively unknown artists or artists that never had a major hit single breaking through the mainstream and scoring top 10s, #1 singles and some will become major artists when the new decade comes. That happens in almost every penultimate and/or last year of the decade

- Beyoncé releases another solo album - Billie Eilish is very big next year. - Shinedown gets their second hit with Get Up. - Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, and even Kacey Musgraves go for crossover hits. - Brockhampton gets a hit. - 1D reunite (w/ Zayn) and score their first #1 hit.

- RIHANNA - She will finally fucking release R9 smh. It'll be a lot more accessible to the international markets than ANTI and the singles, album and tour will perform much better. This album will be more like TTT and will be more of a mixture of Pop and Urban rather than predominantly Urban like ANTI was.
- GAGA - She'll win at least one of the GG nominations and at least one of the Oscar nominations; more than likely being for Best Original Song. The soundtrack will see a big spike during Awards seasons possibly climbing back to #1 if she wins these awards. Shallow may go Top 3 too.
- ARIANA - Thank You, Next will be #1 on the Hot 100 at least 7-8 weeks before Post's or Rih's new single takes over. The follow up singles will be hits as well and the album will be huge in streaming.
- BEYONCE - She will spend most of the first half of 2019 gearing up for Lion King promotion and will be full throttle promoting the movie and soundtrack. The movie will be a blockbuster success but critics will be hard on it for being a remake. She'll get a nomination for Original Song from the GG and Oscars in 2020. We probably won't get a proper solo studio album until 2020.
- ADELE - She'll return and the lead single will go #1. There will be lots of hype and the album will sell a million first week. Obviously it won't sell as much as 21 or 25 but it'll be a massive seller for an album released in 2019.
- CAMILA - She'll release her lead single late winter early spring and it'll be a huge hit. It'll likely peak in the Top 3 but may reach #1 depending on competition. Her sophomore album will be a success and it'll get her a couple more Top 10 hits.
- DRAKE - Mob Ties will be a big Urban hit but won't match the success of the other singles minus the MJ collaboration. He won't release a new album until the third or fourth quarter but he'll remain on the radio through random collaborations per usual.
- POST MALONE - The lead single from his next album will be a huge hit and will likely go #1. His follow-ups will be big hits too similar to the success of BB&B.
- MARIAH CAREY - She'll release the A No No remix in January. Cardi won't be featured so it won't reach it's full potential unfortunately. Reaching Top 20 on Rhythmic would be a success. She'll start her worldwide tour. They'll release one more single from the album, likely The Distance but it won't do much.
- MADONNA - She'll release her next album during the second quarter with a bundle which will cause a massive boost in first week sales; likely 200k+. The lead single will likely feature a hot artist and will have respectable peaks around the world with Top 20 in the US being likely, possibly Top 10 depending on the promo they have lined up.
- JUSTIN BEIBER - He'll release a new album. The lead will be a huge hit all around the world due to hype but the follow-ups won't be as successful. The album won't be as successful as Purpose and it'll be clear that his interest in being a megastar has waned. He'll likely abandon the era and will welcome his first child by the end of the year...or sooner.
- SELENA GOMEZ - She'll release a new album and will have success with the lead single. Her streaming will be respectable so her total SPS won't be too bad. Those pure sales will be horrible though. The follow up singles won't flop but won't be smashes.
- DEMI LOVATO - Due to the near death experience she had in 2018 her entire era will revolve around her "rebirth" of sorts. Her lead will be a self love anthem similar to Roar and will be a big hit. The album itself will do just ok and the follow up singles will follow similar trajectory as the follow up singles from her last album.
- MAROON 5 - The drama surrounding the Superbowl will overshadow the halftime performance itself. Adam will become the bullsye of the hate train JT experienced last year. They'll continue to release radio fodder though and radio will continue to ride the band's dick.
- NICKI MINAJ - Good Form won't do much. Likely Top 20 on Urban and Rhythmic but won't crack Top 40 on Hot 100. There will be no more singles from Queen. She'll finally chill out a bit once she realize she's really digging her own grave. Her current relationship will end and she'll spend most of the year keeping a low profile aside from a couple collaborations. She'll likely get into a relationship with a respectable guy, become engaged a bit later and wed. Unfortunately, she is well past her peak in regards to commercial success and will continue to lose her cool factor as he goes deeper into her late 30s.
- CARDI B - She'll win at least one Grammy and Nicki will likely have a social media meltdown before she finally takes a step back from everything. The media will really blow this up and really poke at Nicki for still not having a Grammy. Money won't do much more than it has already done and they'll quickly move onto her follow up album with the single coming premiering late spring and the album in the summer. The single will be a success and the album will also be a success.

The single will be a success and the album will also be a success. Selena hmmmmm

Taylor Swift will be crowned artist of the decade brought about by her 3 multi-week chart-topping singles from her (1st week million sales) multi-week chart-topping 7th Studio LP.
