Both songs about guys/people who think a little too much of themselves and both written and performed by female country artists with large gay fanbases.
Shania's country-pop jam was released as a single in 1998 (1999 in the UK) from her record-shattering Come On Over album. The original album version of the song is featured in the below music video and was mainly played on country radio where it peaked at #8. There was a dance/pop remix version for pop radio that was on the international edition of the album, and that same version was also featured on Shania's Greatest Hits album. The song peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
20 years later, Kacey Musgraves' "High Horse" is a country disco-pop anthem that is featured on her critically acclaimed album, Golden Hour released earlier this year. The song was released as a single to Hot AC radio.
Which song do you like more?

I love Golden Hour, but don't get the love for High Horse. It doesn't impress me much!

Shania, with ease. I love Kacey, but "High Horse" isn't even top 5 for me on Golden Hour and "Impress" is a straight classic.

"High Horse," but I'm not surprised it's losing either. I just always preferred Shania's ballads.

I'll go with the classic here for sure, High Horse is pretty subpar also.
