The final #1s on Billboard's country charts (going by airplay) for legendary country male acts George Strait and Alan Jackson both peaked within a few months of each other in 2009 and are frequently panned as among their worst singles ever released. Which final #1 is better: Alan's or George's?

"River of Love" a nice fun simple song and I love the random ukulele part.

But I vote George

Neither one of these are close to either man's best. "River of Love", while not particularly memorable, is pleasant and listenable, while the less said about "Country Boy" the better.

King George!!!! I don't hate either song, tbh. "River Of Love" is a little cheesy and boring, but can also be a total earworm if you listen to it in the right mood! "Country Boy" is one I can listen to if it comes on, but the lyrics are SO cringeworthy... "I'm a country boy. I've got a four wheel drive. Climb in my bed; I'll take you for a ride!" Like, as much as I love word play and double-entendres, that was one that never needed to happen

First off love both artists and I do agree these are the worst #1’s of their careers, close to worst singles too.
Having said that I prefer “Country Boy” Alan sells it better than George does here imo.
