Recently, I've started graphing the full chart runs of random songs on the Hot 100. I'll post them as I make them. If anybody has any requests for songs I haven't done yet, then I will do those. I don't know if this is the right place to start a thread though. If I need to post this somewhere else, please tell me. Anyways, here's my first one, which is also my current profile picture, for "Lights" by Ellie Goulding. I read that it took forever to climb the Hot 100 so I thought it would be interesting to graph. Also as a side note, it actually spent 57 weeks on the chart, but one of those was a standalone week in 2011 that didn't show up when I entered the value in excel, so instead you get the remaining 56 consecutive weeks. "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood This one was very interesting because of its multiple peaks on the Hot 100. Because of its incredible longevity, despite only peaking at #8, it ended up at #6 on the 2007 year end chart, since it was on for every single week of the tracking year (I think). Attachment Deleted

"Bodak Yellow" by Cardi B Debuted low but shot up quickly. Then took a while to fall off. The reason the graph stops at #40 is because the next week it already went recurrent out of the Top 50, so #40 was its last position to chart in. Attachment Deleted

"I Knew You Were Trouble" by Taylor Swift Interesting how it debuted at #3 and then fell off the chart only 2 weeks later, although it did come back to peak higher. Attachment Deleted

"Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran This seemed to benefit from year-end radio play towards the end of its chart run, but was on the chart for so long that it went recurrent when it fell below #25 after over a year on the chart. View AttachmentDidn't it spend more than 53 weeks?

Good work, keep it up! Can you graph I'm Yours and Radioactive's run? I'm Yours especially since it's run is very long and iirc have like three different runs in the top 10

Didn't it spend more than 53 weeks? Wow, I'm so blind! I for some reason thought that its last week was at #22 the week after re-gaining to #13, but I for some reason skipped over it when I looked at the next chart, where it in fact moved back up to #21. I apparently skipped over it and thought it went recurrent that week, whoops! I'll fix that and post a correct chart for it.

"Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran I revised it to add the remaining 6 weeks to its 59 week run that I forgot in my original post for this song. Attachment Deleted

Don't want to spoil things, but acharts.co already does this by clicking on a chart entry. And it compares chart runs from multiple countries.
I think you could do some interesting things the website doesn't. Like compare on the same chart the runs of different songs by the same act (e.g. Shape of You vs. Pefect), or different versions of the same song. I'd love to see a telescoped chart of All I Want For Christmas Is You with Jan-Nov excluded.

Actually, I tried something similar a few months ago, where I tried to graph the entire chart history of a couple of artists, with each song colored based on which album it's from. I did this one for Katy Perry first, since I was interested in just how much she dominated the chart earlier this decade. I did only do this covering the Top 40 instead of the entire Hot 100, though, which is why the lines look steeper than in my individual song graphs. Red = One of the Boys Yellow = Teenage Dream Green = Prism Blue = Witness Dark Gray = Non-Album Single Light Gray = Featured Might be missing some, but for the most part its all there. It took such a long time that I haven't had the motivation to do more yet. Attachment Deleted

Pity the album sales never matched that, by comparison to other mega-hit albums.
