hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=315177&title=GRANDE-%3D-VENTISaturday, February 9, 2019 GRANDE = VENTIAriana Grande’s thank u, next soars after one day with a projection of 270-300k, making it the biggest first week since Lil Wayne debuted with 480k in October. What’s even more impressive is she does it without a ticket bundle and only a small D2C contribution that may make up less than 5% of the total. When sales and streams from the tracks released prior to the album are added in, thank u, next will have collected an RTD of at least 625-675k by the end of week one, and that release-to-date metric, in the present reality, is far more illustrative than the week-to-date number. Ariana is a marketplace powerhouse. More data to this point: On day one, thank u tracks earned some 68m worldwide streams on Spotify, and single “7 rings” alone reached over 10m in daily global Spotify streams yesterday. Only XXXtentacion’s “SAD!” (the day after his death) and Mariah Carey (on Christmas) have reached 10m in one day on Spotify global. She’s dominating the Apple Music chart as well, with the entire Top 7 and 12 of the Top 15 tracks, not to mention the #1 album and track on iTunes. Ariana Grande (Republic) 270-300k total activity, 90-100k album

Definitely expected more. Hopefully they increase.
350-500k seems more like her league right now.

Yeah that seems low, I see her doing 350-400k.

Meh. 90-100k is modest, but over 250k was to be expected. She's basically a hip-hop artist in terms of her streaming success and how she's going about releasing now. Not caring about longevity too much and just getting as much out there as fast as possible.

Tbh I was expecting 500-700K SPS but I think it’ll be pushing 500k by the end of the week regardless

Don't they usually underestimate SPS in the first estimate? I think the numbers will trend up. It would be nice if the album could do over 100k in pure sales!

Even if she does up with ~300k, it's still impressive because iirc their are no tour/merch bundles for this one.

They probably under estimated her numbers and will increase them with every update to keep traffic flowing in there site.
Great numbers nevertheless. For a pop act her streaming numbers are insane.

I doubt she’ll debut more than 2 songs in the top 10 with these numbers tho.

I’m really surprised anyone would consider these numbers disappointing— it’s a marked improvement from her last album which just came out. What pop artists have done better than this recently without tour/merch bundles?

I doubt she’ll debut more than 2 songs in the top 10 with these numbers tho. agree, but these numbers are great still. one year ago she couldn't get a #1 spot, now she's blocking herself from it. my prediction: #1 7 rings #2 break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored #5 thank u, next #10 needy (for now) bloodline and NASA top 15 for sure

I hope it crosses 100K in pure sales
SPS should rise even more considering how it's doing on Spotify and AM

Yeah these numbers are something to be very thankful for (pun intended) for many reasons:
1. It's released only six months after her last album and can be seen sort of as a companion set to that, so the fact that it will far outperform her last album is a good sign and isn't always achieved by artists with similar release patterns.
2. As said before, and probably the strongest indicator, it is WITHOUT any type of tour/merch bundle.
3. It looks like the bulk of the numbers will come from streaming, which is the main way people are consuming music these days and is a good sign for her and possibly pop music in general that they are starting to move into and conquer this area.
4. She has never been a massive album seller, so these are very good numbers compared to her other releases. If people were expecting her to move Adele or Taylor Swift-type numbers, they were fooling themselves.

I don't think she will be in that range. I expect 300 to 400 SPS but 90k sales seems kinda low. The way she is slaying streaming tho...

Tbh I was expecting 500-700K SPS but I think it’ll be pushing 500k by the end of the week regardless No way. I thought her pure sales might move up in line with her increase in streams (or close), but 90-100k is kinda low. The SPS estimate seems pretty realistic based off her streaming, I don't see them getting bumped up by more than 15k. Some of the other big streaming releases had merch/tour bundles boosting their pure sales. Others were older hip hop acts than still had decent pure sales like Lil Wayne and Eminem. Most had much more tracks on their albums. Ariana's strong in the US, but her stats are pretty international, a lot of the rappers are more popular in the US than abroad, I think about 40% of Drake Spotify streams were non-US compared to 55-60% for Ariana.
