After a string of album cut eliminations, we turn back to his singles catalog to see none other than Josh Turner's debut single, "She'll Go on You," be the next to go on us. This saccharine ballad about appreciating the women in your life (from the perspective of a father, a husband, and finally a son) bombed on the country charts back in 2002 when we were first introduced to him, but thankfully for him things turned around following this misstep. The participants of this rankdown weren't too keen on this one either as it becomes the third single release of his to depart the rankdown. Passion for this one was low overall as most chose to slot this one into the mid-teens of their list, though there were three bottom 5s and five top 10s. "Better cherish her every second of your life 'Cause before you get the chance to say goodbye She'll go on you"

Only two album tracks remain -- "Loretta Lynn's Lincoln" and "As Fast as I Could" -- but one of them will miss the top 15 and be eliminated next. Any guesses?

Well, since no one is around to guess... The honkytonk lover's dream, "Loretta Lynn's Lincoln," is next to get the axe, just shy of the top 15 (by a mere 6 points), which leaves only one album cut remaining in the rankdown. A whimsical country music adventure for a man who buys a Lincoln supposedly driven by Loretta Lynn and then cruises through Nashville much to the bewilderment of others, including Dolly Parton who takes him to meet Loretta herself, only for it to end up being a poor man's dream. Ranks for this one were truly all over the place, as it saw five top 10 ranks, which includes poor George Strait Junkie suffering back-to-back top 5 losses. On the other hand, we see CoJoFan finally lose his #25 and five other bottom 5s are expelled as well. "Well, I throwed my ol' guitar in that big back seat And I steered her on out on to Demonbreun Street Them other cars pulled over like the Red Sea had parted It was then I had a vision of Dolly Parton (Right there, he had a vision of Dolly Parton) She said, 'Ain't that Loretta Lynn's Lincoln?' Yeah, it's Loretta Lynn's Lincoln She said, 'I thought I recognized them two big headlights blinkin'. I do declare, that there's Loretta Lynn's Lincoln"

Welp I was going to guess “As Fast As I Could” would leave since I thought “Loretta Lynn’s Lincoln” would for sure be the last remaining album cut...definitely didn’t see that one coming!

I think the lone album track “As Fast as I Could” will be out before the top 10 along with “Me and God”, “I Wouldn’t Be a Man”, and “Everything Is Fine”. Oh and lets get “What It Ain’t” out please.

5 to go before the top 10, I'd guess the following.
All Over Me As Fast As I Could I Wouldn't Be A Man Me And God (kinda surprised this is still in but not complaining) What It Ain't
Also "Loretta Lynn's Lincoln" is perfection to me, I've loved it since the first time I've heard it.

This version of Me and God is really good. Probably because the combined age of everyone on this stage is still less than the total age of the original duet partner...

I'm thinking "What It Ain't" goes next.... And right you are! "What It Ain't" becomes the first single to leave this side of the top 15. A minor top 40 hit for him back in the early 2000s, it did little to capitalize on the momentum he had from the title track off his debut album, and it wouldn't be until his sophomore record that he would truly experience his 'breakthrough.' It's a rousing ditty about the way a woman has done the narrator wrong and set to a honkytonk production, with a memorable music video that features Josh Turner playing the role of a host on a fictional game show about what love is and "ain't." Fanfare for this one was pretty evenly split between people who had it in the top 10 and others who ranked it in the 18-21 range. Four lose a top 5, while only a pair of bottom 5s are dispelled here, indicating this one wasn't too polarizing. "It ain't a mink coat, Forty pairs of shoes, Two 14-carat anklets on my mastercard. It ain't walkin' in a pawn shop, Recognizing her engagement ring, She swore she lost."

Up until this point, we've avoided seeing any of Josh Turner's hit singles pop up... but that ends now with the elimination of "Hometown Girl," his most recent success at country radio from a few years back (possibly his last, sadly). A groovy ode to the search for the type of girl the narrator desires being the one right under his nose, it almost returned him to #1 on the charts after a few years absence, but it wasn't one of his most popular singles among Pulse posters. I figured this one wouldn't do the best here, but I'm actually a little surprised it wound up as low as it did. I am the only poster who loses a top 5 here, though six others slotted it in their top 10s. Instead, on the other end of the spectrum, three posters lose a bottom 5. "She grew up around here on that southwest side Where the corn grows up to the road side Went to high school here, got that Panther pride She'll be cheering them on every Friday night"

We finally say goodbye to our first representative of Haywire, our last untouched Josh Turner era, with the elimination of "I Wouldn't Be a Man." It is also a monumental reveal in being the first #1 to leave us in this rankdown, courtesy of bboat11. The third single from Haywire and following two #1 smashes, "I Wouldn't Be a Man" failed to replicate the success of its predecessors and limped into the teens on the charts. Originally popularized by Don Williams in the late 1980s as a top 10 hit, it was later turned into a minor hit for Billy Dean in the 1990s and then later covered again by Josh Turner in 2010. One of his slower offerings to country radio, it's a seductive performance over an antiquated lyric that if the beautiful woman before him didn't turn him on, he 'wouldn't be a man.' Despite the #1, it received only one additional top 5, and it was ultimately sunk by a string of bottom 5s that included LBTrocks finally losing his #25. "I can feel passion flowing As you fall into my arms The secret way you touch me Tells me there's no holdin' back No holdin' back"

This makes up for "What it Ain't" leaving WAY too soon.
Everything about "I Wouldn't Be A Man" is absolutely atrocious. From the horrific lyrics to dreadful melody, the song is insufferable.

FINALLY “What It Ain’t” is out as I’ve just never really cared for the song and more than not hit skip anytime it used to come on.
As a fan of the late Don Williams I’ve always rather enjoyed “I Would’ve Be a Man” but admit that I’m actually partial to Billy Dean’s version as he delivered quite the sultry and seductive take. On the other hand Josh’s version is probably my least favorite of the three but I still enjoyed it well enough to put it inside my top 15.

Right after taking the first hit to Haywire, we immediately go back for seconds as "All Over Me," the second #1 hit single from the project and his last to top the charts (on Billboard at least), to date. "All Over Me" is a piano and guitar-driven summer jam that is lyrically light and tells of Josh Turner wanting to load up the car and go down to the river with his girl. It only edged out the last song by three points, and like our last reveal, it takes out another poster's #25, this time with Kanenrá:ke getting the pleasure. Nobody loses a #1 here though, and everyone else's will remain intact as we reach the top 10 (so nobody's in danger with our next reveal to come, either). It did receive eight top 10s and a whole slew of ranks in the teens, with only six posters putting it outside the top 15. "Well, I can taste that kiss on your sweet lips Ain't gonna want it to end So when the morning comes, we'll roll on out And do it all over again"

The final song to bow out shy of the top 10 is "Me and God," the third and final single from Your Man, which (similar to "I Wouldn't Be a Man") failed to ignite the charts following a pair of smash hits and settled for a modest peak in the teens of the country charts. A simplistic ditty that is Josh Turner's most blatant profession of faith to ever go to country radio, it also featured uncredited duet vocals from Ralph Stanley (plus backing vocals from Diamond Rio members, too). I'd been waiting for this one to finally get out of here. I was surprised it was shown as much love as it was in a catalog as strong as his, but I digress. I lose my last bottom 5 rank at last, and bboat11 as well. Nine others lose a top 10 rank instead though, including a high number of near-misses for a perfect rank since a lot of those were #10s, lol. "One day we'll live together Where the angels trod Me and God"

He sounds like an asexual in I Wouldn't Be a Man, which ruins the song for me. Gospel songs like this seems to have better melody even though I cannot relate to the message. This also applies to Me and God.
