The album is brilliant, Pitchfork gave 7.2 which is very good for an album by pop phenomenon.

Yes, great album. Deserved success.
However, this album is not mainstream AT ALL. There is really not a single obvious pop smash hit on it.

It got 4/5 from AllMusic. It is supposed to be alternative rather than pop as we understand it.

Crazy numbers for someone without even a huge hit yet. I get the feeling that the radio will frantically try to jump on her next album and it will utterly explode to a 500k+ week, or she'll go on like J. Cole and pull huge album numbers but not a lot of H100 staying power.

I'm a bit disapointed that estimates are considerably lower than pre-release, because frankly, the album definitelt lives up to expectations. It must hurt it that there is no obvious big pop single on it though.

It could still trend up, at least a little. Still definitely a solid number, and it's good to actually see a lot of pure sales as well.

When's the last time the first week total (streams+sales) was this high for the first week of an artist's debut album?

When's the last time the first week total (streams+sales) was this high for the first week of an artist's debut album? Cardi B's first week is right in the middle of that SPS prediction (255k). I expected over 200k because I've seen a large amount of press on her leading up to the launch, but this exceeds even my expectations. Is there a bundle powering that sales total? It's extremely impressive either way.

If she's selling 150k, seems really low that she'd only add 100k considering her streaming #s are HUGE right now.

I agree that it's low (~140M on-demand streams), but let's not forget that she's much bigger on Spotify than on Apple Music so we (Pulse members) could be overestimating her streaming numbers.

I wouldn't say that she's much bigger on Spotify than Apple Music, but she is bigger there. Unlike Ariana who's bigger on AM or Drake who's much bigger on AM. Billie is still getting a fair bit less than Ariana did on her first couple days on Spotify too, and Ariana's Spotify total was still lower than Drake's due to the shorter tracklist. I can see Billie getting a bit more than 100k SEA but certainly less than 150k.

Apple Music (five songs in the top 10) #2, #5, #6, #7 and #8. Lowest charting track: #53.

That's just a minor difference in the grand scheme of things. She's clearly still a force on AM with those numbers. I was also looking at the unedited AM chart that doesn't combine multiple versions, which is why I see 6 top tens instead of 5.

TUN (album) first week: Spotify 54.4% vs. 45.6% Others Sucker first week: Spotify 57.9% vs. 42.1% Others For Billie, I think it's safe to predict 55-60% on-demand streams coming from Spotify.

What does Ariana have to do with anything? I was just pointing out that Billie isn't significantly stronger on Spotify than Apple Music, just minutely so.

I just brought up Ariana because if we're talking about how much SEAs you'd expected Billie to do based off her Spotify performance, Ariana is the closest comparison to put Billie's estimates into perspective. 105k does seem a bit low to me, but not terribly shocking, my guess would have been around 120k SEAs.

Ah, okay. Eh, her streams are good, but Billie's top song came in inder 3 million whereas Araian had two tracks over 3 million on first day. That's definitely enough of a difference to account for a decent difference between their SEA numbers.

Coming out of a strong streaming weekend, Billie Eilish is on track to notch the year's second-biggest debut, behind only Ariana Grande. She'll easily take the #1 spot on this week's HITS Top 50 Chart. Eilish currently has four of the Top 5 songs and seven of the Top 10 at Apple Music and the entire Top 5 and eight of the Top 10 on Spotify’s U.S. chart. Five of her songs are in the Top 10 at Spotify global. "Bad guy" is #5 at iTunes. Billie Eilish (Darkroom/Interscope) 260-285k total activity, 150-160k album hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=315854&title=NEW-RELEASES%3A-BILLIE%27S-BLAZING-%28UPDATE%29
