Artist: Jason Aldean Single: "We Back" Album: 9Label: Broken Bow Records/BMG/Macon Music Impact Date: September 16th, 2019 The New Jason Aldean single is called "We Back." The ad in both Country Aircheck and Billboard this past Tuesday teases a release date of Monday, which is rare these days to have a song debut on a Monday. I believe the writers are Tyler Hubbard, Jordan Schmidt and The Warren Brothers. Spotify already teasing the song, plus three new songs from an upcoming album called 9...which would be his ninth studio album lol. Makes sense. Also makes sense to drop something on 9/9/2019 lol.

This one is now out. Impacting now but an official add date of next Monday. There's also three new songs that are available off Jason's upcoming album, 9.
"Blame It On You" "Keeping It Small Town" "I Don't Drink Anymore"
The album will drop on November 22nd.

Ah, there's the classic Aldean sound I can't stand. After his last two albums, I was worried I was maybe becoming a fan...
Also how is this 9th album!? It's crazy he has more albums than good singles.

This is pretty weak from him, sounds like an album cut from 2014. I like all 3 of the other pre-release songs better, especially “I Don’t Drink Anymore”. Hoping the future singles are more exciting than this one.

Agree with above. But the lyrics of I Don’t Drink Anymore are so nondescript aside from the hook...The auto-piloting is real.

Maybe it will grow on me, but I swear he's sung this same song like five different times. "I Don't Drink Anymore" is pretty decent, but I'm with the rest in that these four songs seem mailed in from Aldean.

This is garbage.
It's a worse version of "When the lights come on" but without any of the good (fml.. I said that) writing.
Instant station changer for me.

Definitely not as bad as you all are making it out to be but it isn’t that good either, I will admit. I like the production and the melody is fine in the verse and even some of the chorus, but the repeated ‘we back we back we back’ is annoying, and the annoyance factor is enhanced by the fact that ‘we back’ is grammatically incorrect and sounds stupid.
It’s like a less good version of “When The Lights Come On” essentially, and while I like that song, it isn’t one of my favorite Jason tunes either.

It's not that bad but my goodness, have we not had this same song by Aldean countless times before? Usually, artists stick to their signature sound and that's fine but something about Jason's music, production, mixes and melodies all make them kind of blend together. The "we back" repetition will part will definitely be grating after a while. It's almost as annoying as the "baby you a little mind reader" in Dustin Lynch's "Mind Reader", when it should be "you're a little mind reader."

Auto-pilot Blandean strikes again. I knew I was going to hate this the moment I saw that cringeworthy title. Awful. His last era's singles showed promise, but he's clearly content with just regurgitating the same crap he's been recording for years.

How this guy manages to stay on the A list completely baffles me. Half of his songs feel like the same song with somewhat modified lyrics. This is another one that i feel like i've heard from him a number of times before. Hard pass.

See that's the problem, unless people STOP encouraging him by not buying/streaming his music and actually giving him bad callout scores he ain't gonna change. He belongs to "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mentality. I wish all this attention was going to someone else, someone who was worth listening to

I think this one won’t perform that well. It’ll still be a decent hit but early sales are an indicator of fatigue. Not to mention I think the title will likely irritate more than a few folks...

"I Don't Drink Anymore" is definitely the standout track of the 4 songs that were released. "We Back" and "Small Town Living" are more of the same old same material we've heard him do countless times before. I used to be a fairly big fan of Aldean but I've become really burnt out on his music.

I don't find this to be awful or anything, but it's lazy and more of the same from him that we didn't need. I thought the singles from the last album were a step in the right direction for him, but this is a big step backwards.

It's certainly nothing groundbreaking, like everyone has said, but I'm fine with it.
At this point, Jason Aldean's audience is what it is. Nobody who wants traditional storytelling country is listening to Jason Aldean and even if he changed, it's too late to turn many or any of those people. All he would do is alienate the ones who still love his stuff.
I love country that tells a great story. But I also love to just lounge in the backyard and listen to fun stuff that isn't so heavy and just makes me enjoy myself and the time I'm spending with others. Jason Aldean fits with the latter. There's room for everyone.
That said, it's definitely not the best version of what he does, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's some struggle.

His lead singles have mostly been rockers with the exception of “You Make It Easy”. This isn’t bad but I would’ve went with “Keeping It Small Town” as I feel it would’ve kept his #1 streak in tact more than likely. This will be a top 10 probably but I’m iffy on it being a #1.

None of the four songs are very good. It looks like his next album will be a big step back.

I'm sure Jason will far exceed her debut come the end of the week, but I love seeing fresh material perform better than Jason's tired "rocker" dreck!

"I Don't Drink Anymore" is really good. Love the melody, it's the most 'country' sounding of the new ones, and I like the instrumentation overall, aside from that beat.
"Keeping It Small Town" is dreadful. This is the modern style of country I absolutely detest. "Blame It On You" isn't nearly as bad, but it's still bad.
Hoping there's way stronger material on the album but I'm becoming worried.

This sounds like several of the singles I have already heard from him, which is really surprising since IMO his last album delivered singles that all sounded fresh for him.

Why does Chris Stapleton take 6 months off between singles and this guy releases a new single the exact moment his current one peaks.
