And that takes us to the top 15 for both Wynonna and The Judds, which feels like a good place to stop for the night. “Let’s Make a Baby King” was an easy last place for me as I’ve just never liked the song at all. This made it much further than I was expecting it to and it really should’ve left somewhere in the bottom 5. I can’t say I actually ever heard “Attitude” in its entirety until listening to it for the rankdown. I ended up watching her performance of the song from the Ellen show and it really helped in my ranking because I thought she really brought the song to life there. I had almost all but forgotten that Wynonna covered “I Want to Know What Love Is”. Although nothing can really touch the original I have to say Wynonna absolutely kills it! “Girls With Guitars” did about as well as I thought it might as I know based from previous rankdowns that it has always been somewhat of a polarizing song. This has always been a jam for me, though, so much so that this was also the song I selected to highlight from Wynonna in my 90s Women of Country rankdown from last year (albeit that had more to do with the theme of the series). And I second someguy ’s thoughts as I too would’ve liked to at least seen this make the top 15. Speaking of the remaining songs for Wynonna there’s very little in the way of surprises except for maybe “Going Nowhere” which I wouldn't have guessed to see it make it past such songs as "Only Love". This is really where we get down to business and there’s going to be some painful reveals for sure. The same can be said for the remaining list of songs for The Judds as well as that is about as stacked of a Top 15 as I’ve ever seen!

Oh, this is where it gets real. If I had to guess which songs won’t make the top ten I’d say these for Wynonna:
Going Nowhere Heaven Help Me My Strongest Weakness What the World Needs When Love Starts Talkin’
And anything missing the top ten for the Judds is going to hurt, but alas here goes:
Born To Be Blue Cry Myself to Sleep Girls Night Out Maybe Your Baby’s Got the Blues Young Love (Strong Love)
I could also see “I Know Where I’m Going” missing as well as I think the competition going into that is going to be fierce.

It's surprising to me that it's out here; I thought it would be in the top 10 for sure. A last place ranking from bboat11 did it in, and it never recovered. It also inspired CMT's Girls Night Out series, which culminated in an album release from Martina McBride, Sara Evans, Lorrie Morgan and Mindy McCready.

Well I guess we know who never to invite in case we ever decide to have a girls night out... I had everything but “Give a Little Love” pegged to miss the top ten so nothing really caught me by surprise otherwise. That one didn't get nearly as much support as I hoped it might which is disappointing because I've always considered it to be one of their ten best songs for sure.

Oh, and speaking of "Give a Little Love" the song always reminds me of their farewell concert that aired in 1991. Something must've stuck out to me from the performance of this song because it's the one I remember most from the show lol.

The song was her biggest hit since her final solo #1 "To Be Loved By You" in 1996. "When Love Starts Talkin'" stalled out just before the top 10 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart at #13, a rank she would never reach again. Here, most of the ranks came in the 13-17 range, with just two ranks below the top 20, and 3 top 10 placements, including a top 5 rank from .indulgecountry.

Wynonna #12 - "Going Nowhere"Billboard Country Airplay peak: #43 Highest Ranking: #4 Kanenrá:keLowest Ranking : #33 RobbyFloridaTotal Points: 153 Average Rank: 13.91 Kanenrá:ke - 4 someguy - 11 Mirago - 14 Cody Wants Out... - 14 BackwoodsBarbie - 10 bboat11 - 20 taylor - 21 tim - 21 castleoblivion26 - 23 .indulgecountry - 29 RobbyFlorida - 33 "Going Nowhere", the second single from New Day Dawning, leaves us at #12. The song stalled out at #43, and was unfortunately the end of the album at radio. It's a shame, because I actually quite like the album, and feel it is quite underrated in the context of Wy's career. Though it tied in points with our #11, it loses the tiebreaker, because unfortunately, someone loses their #1 next.

Sad but not surprised to see "Heaven Help Me" miss out on the top 10 for Wynonna. I knew it would be a floppy song to put at #1, but honestly I have zero regrets. The song was high on my list to begin with because I absolutely love the lyrics, plus this is by far the best vocal performance I have ever heard from Wynonna. The juxtaposition between her powerful belting on "shines on me" at the beginning of the chorus followed by the head voice on "where I'd be" in the second half of the chorus is absolutely haunting. My #1 started out as the obvious choice, aka "Tell Me Why", which I am sure still has a shot to win this thing, but I had to edit my list after a few more listens to bump "Heaven Help Me" up to the top. Such a beautiful song Plus I vaguely recognized this song from listening to radio as a little kid, which shocked me because I remember "What The World Needs" being absolutely EVERYWHERE at that time, but didn't remember hearing anything else current from her. So that little bit of nostalgia helped this song out a lot too!

Even though I wasn’t able to squeeze “I Know Where I’m Going” into my top ten I’m glad that it ended up making it in. I’ve always enjoyed this song but my list was already stacked.

The song was released as the fourth and final single from their second album, Why Not Me in 1985. The Judds weren't huge fans of releasing music videos, as they only did five over the course of their career. This was only their second video that they made. This was a very middle of the road single in terms of ranks here. It received 7 top 10 ranks (out of 11 lists), but none in the top 3. On the other side, its lowest ranks were a pair of #18s.

There's a big gap between #7 and #6, which sees a career song of theirs miss the top 5 by only two points. It takes two people's #1s out with it.

The song would go on to become Wy's final major hit at radio, peaking at #14 in 2003. It was her first top 20 hit in 5 years (after 1998's "Come Some Rainy Day"), and would be the final time that she made the top 30 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. It wasn't a top 10 contender for most of the process, but 5 top 10 ranks in a row at the very end of submissions allowed it to slide into the top 10.

Third single "Flies On The Butter (You Can't Go Home Again)" saw Wynonna and Naomi reunited for the first time in years. The song was released as 'Wynonna featuring Naomi', but is later sometimes referred to as a Judds single. I decided to keep it in the Wynonna rankdown, since that's how it was initially released. This is my absolute favourite song of either The Judds or Wynonna. It reminds me so much of growing up and going to the country to see my grandparents and great aunt. It should have been a much bigger hit than its #33 peak, but I'm really glad it could make the top 10 here. It's our first multi-#1 loss of the rankdown.

The fourth and final single from that album, while still a big hit, was her first solo single to miss #1, peaking at #4 in early 1993. It was very consistent here. It is our final song not to receive any top 5 ranks, though it also didn't receive any ranks lower than #17.
