Spotlight.
Alicia failed at giving Whitney an updated sound.

No contest. Million Dollar Bill.
Clive played it too safe with the I Look to You album.
MDB should have been the first single and he should have used payola to make it a hit.

Love both but I have to go with "Spotlight." There were a number of mashups of MDB with instrumentals of the remixes of "Spotlight" as they shared a lot of similarities in their chord progressions. Alicia failed at giving Whitney an updated sound. MDB sampled extensively from Loleatta Holloway's "We're Getting Stronger" from the Disco era so that explains most of the older sounding production.

I wouldn’t blame Alicia for that though. I’m almost certain Clive had a specific sound in mind.

Spotlight. Alicia failed at giving Whitney an updated sound. I wouldn’t blame Alicia for that though. I’m almost certain Clive had a specific sound in mind. That was most definitely done with the influence of Clive. Funny enough it ran over into Jennifer's next album that he also executive produced. It was very prominent on the Swizz x Alicia song Everybody Needs Love which sounded like a spiritual successor to MDB. Still one of my favorites, though.

JHud for me. MDB isn't one of my faves from Whitney, but "Spotlight" is solid.

I just want to add, Whitney looked so hot in that pink mini and high heels.

I love both, but the chorus to "Spotlight" is more effortlessly catchy and the BRIDGE. That takes it over the edge for me, gotta go with JHud.
