Kanye teases ‘Jesus Is King’ album drop Friday night at Detroit theater By Hannah FrishbergSeptember 27, 2019 | 3:32pm | Updated Yeezus is coming. After some unsurprising delays, Kanye West may finally be releasing his latest album, “Jesus Is King,” Friday night in Detroit. “JUST IN: Kanye West will bring ‘Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience’,” to #TheFox tonight at 8PM,” a tweet from Fox Theatre in Detroit reads. “Guests are encouraged to arrive early. Doors open at 6:30PM. Tickets are free, general admission and only available via Ticketmaster.com.” Insiders had been raising red flags since midweek that the album wouldn’t be released on time, despite West’s team’s best efforts. West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, had suggested otherwise, though, retweeting release posts. But it’s still unclear if we’ll be getting an album or another concept altogether. Some are guessing that West will not only release the album tonight, but also a documentary about his life alongside it. Others believe Kanye won’t be dropping the album — but instead, a play. The announcement follows his livestreamed Sunday Service performance at Detroit’s Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre. nypost.com/2019/09/27/kanye-teases-jesus-is-king-album-drop-friday-night-at-detroit-theater/?_ga=2.108210050.1287529319.1569650908-1567383338.1564124701

Kanye West’s ‘Jesus Is King’ a collaboration with James Turrell By Cindy Adams September 30, 2019 | 8:10pm
Kanye West unleashes his new IMAX film, “Jesus Is King” Oct. 25. Exploring theatrical experiences, this co-production is a collaboration and will play worldwide in IMAX theaters.
Filmed summertime it’s a Praise the Lord album in Hallelujah gospel tradition and brings his newfound Sunday sermoning to life in the Roden Crater. That’s artist James Turrell’s never-before-seen installation in Arizona’s Painted Desert. A sneak peek was at listening parties in Detroit’s Fox Theatre and Chicago’s Roosevelt University.
Brethren and sistren, you got to hand it to the Kardashian group — because now, even if you don’t — they’ll get it in the collection plate.

Kanye West’s pastor worked on Jesus Is King, says Kanye was “radically saved” By SHAAD D'SOUZA
The past few weeks has seen a typically chaotic and confusing for Kanye West’s ye follow-up Jesus Is King, the non-secular record that West has been teasing for months. Over the past few weeks, West has been playing the record for fans and congregation at his Sunday Service shows across the country, and bringing along with him Adam Tyson, a Californian preacher who’s been teaching West bible study over the past few months. Now, Tyson has appeared on the Pure Flix podcast, a podcast run by faith-based streaming service and content website Pure Flix, to discuss how he met West, how Sunday Service works, and Jesus Is King.
There are some interesting tidbits throughout the interview, including the fact that West first connected with Tyson over the fact that he believed he had been “radically saved” this past April. “He started meeting with me in my office [after service],” Tyson explains. “And I spent about three hours just going through the gospel, make sure he understood clearly about the atonement of Jesus Christ … and he’s like, ‘Hey, man, I told you I’ve been radically saved. I believe that message, and I want to get that message out to the world.’” This interaction led to Tyson visiting West’s house every Tuesday night, doing a short bible study, followed by a Q&A. Eventually, when West went to Cody, Wyoming to work on Jesus Is King, he flew Tyson out to continue the Tuesday night sessions.
Kanye West brings a Saturday edition of Sunday Service to Salt Lake City Read Next: Kanye West brings a Saturday edition of Sunday Service to Salt Lake City When Tyson pressed West as to what led him to being “radically saved,” West told supposedly told Tyson: “I was just under the weight of my sin. And I was being convicted that I was running from God. And I knew I needed to make things right. So, I came to Christ. I came out of darkness into the light.”
Moreover, West supposedly doesn’t swear anymore, in line with his new faith. “If somebody cusses in his presence, I’ve heard him say a couple of times, ‘Hey, man, you can’t cuss when you’re with me. I’m a born-again Christian,’” Tyson explains. “Who’s gonna say that if they’re not meaning that they want Christ to be exalted in all that they do?”
Elsewhere in the discussion, Tyson alludes to the fact that he’s been working on Jesus Is King alongside West, mentioning that he’s been “hanging out in the studio, working on the Jesus Is King album.”
“He wants me to listen to different lyrics, different songs and help tweak parts of it,” Tyson says of he and West’s creative process. “It’s not like I’m writing the song. It’s all of his work. He’s the complete creator, creative kind of guy. He’s the musician. I’m just making comments the way I see it [on] how to articulate the gospel more clearly, and how to include the component of worship, which that was his idea.
Throughout the podcast, Tyson seems particularly elated that West selected him to guide his spiritual awakening. “If my unbelieving next-door neighbor said, ‘Would you like to teach a Bible study on Tuesday nights for me and a bunch of my friends,’ I would be elated. But my next-door neighbor isn’t necessarily asking that,” Tyson explains. “But Kanye is. The guy’s asking, ‘Can you come teach the Bible?’ I’m a pastor. That’s like saying ‘sic ’em’ to a dog. What am I supposed to do?” Listen to the full Pure Flix podcast below.

Kanye West Announces New 'Jesus Is Born' Album Before 'Jesus Is King' Even Drops
He says the album will be out on Christmas Day.
With Kanye West's ninth studio album, Jesus Is King, rapidly approaching, Yeezy already has his sights set on his next studio effort. During his Beats 1 interview with Zane Lowe, West spilled the beans and revealed that his Sunday Service album Jesus Is Born will be dropping on Christmas.
"Sunday Service album, Jesus is Born, on Christmas is coming," he succinctly said to Lowe. Since the start of the year, West has provided a multitude of Sunday Service events, featuring his esteemed choir. The Chicago lyricist even brought his Gospel-laden attraction to Coachella for an Easter special last April. It's unclear if West's Sunday Service project will be a live album or a studio version of the tracks he's recently performed.
During past Sunday Services, West has performed new tracks and even remixed several popular records such as Aaliyah's "At Your Best" and Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode."
As far as Jesus Is King is concerned, the elusive ninth album is expected to drop Friday after experiencing a bevy of delays.

‘Porn addict’ Kanye West banned premarital sex from ‘Jesus Is King’ team By Marisa Dellatto October 24, 2019 | 3:39pm
In anticipation of his upcoming album and IMAX movie concert “Jesus Is King,” Kanye West gave a bombshell interview discussing everything from his mental health hospitalizations and upcoming projects to his sex life.
In the sit-down with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1, West discussed how being hospitalized for an “episode,” which involved him being handcuffed, “saved his life.” West has spoken openly about his bipolar diagnosis and struggles to remain on medication for his mental health.
“The most space that I had to think is when I went to the hospital,” he said. “One of the things that happened when I went to the hospital is I started reading the Bible and I started writing and copying out Bible verses.”
West now sees himself as a “son of God,” he says.
“Now that I’m in service to Christ, my job is to spread the Gospel, to let people know what Jesus has done for me. I’ve spread a lot of things.”
However, he may have taken the word of the Lord too seriously while working on “Jesus Is King.”
“There’s times where I was asking people to not have premarital sex while they were working on the album,” he told Lowe of his collaborators, according to UPROXX.
West also claimed to be a pornography addict in the interview.
“Playboy was my gateway into full-on pornography addiction. My dad had a Playboy left out at age 5, and it’s affected almost every choice I made for the rest of my life from age 5 to now, having to kick the habit,” said West, according to the report.
West also touched on his plans to run for office, something he has talked about frequently in the past.
“There will be a time when I’m president of the US, and I will remember… any founder that didn’t have the capacity to understand culturally what we’re doing,” West told Lowe, reports Complex.
The “Life of deleted” rapper also revealed that he plans to release a Sunday Service album called “Jesus Is Born” on Dec. 25, Complex reports. The album will feature West’s traveling Christian Gospel church concert group that he has been leading and performing with over the last year.
Both “Jesus Is King” the album and limited-attraction movie are supposed to drop Oct. 25. Some theaters are showing the film, which will run until Oct. 31, starting today.

I was a long time Kanye supporter and fan but this constant back and forth of release dates and his self important diatribes have just put me off. I respect his newfound faith and I respect his skill but he just isn't the same person I championed as a twenty-something growing up in the Midwest. I know a lot - if not most - of my friends and family feel the same. Regardless, I wish him the best and I hope the album lives up to wait!

Our second-least favorite clinical narcissist and overall piece of s**t had this to say about himself and Trump: "This shows you that God is hilarious. ... God has got a sense of humor. Liberals love art, right, and now, I am unquestionably, undoubtedly the greatest human artist of all time. It's just not even a question anymore at this point. It's just a fact, right? So, for the greatest artist in human existence to put a red hat on was God's practical joke on all liberals like, 'Nooooo not Kanye.'"
WHEW I can't wait for him to go away forever, but I won't hold my breath.

I’m not even a Christian anymore, let alone religious, but this album was legitimately offensive. That, or a poor attempt at sock comedy.

I'm glad the hype seems to be very small to non-existent this time around. Most overhyped, overrated artist of all time, probably.
