The Backstreet Boys, I'm assuming he's talking about "God, Your Mama, & Me" with Florida Georgia Line. The highway also played a track from BSB’s newest album. I assume "No Place"?

Yes it is "No Place" I was talking about. It was number one on their countdown and was played more than any song I've ever heard on their at that time. I heard twice an hour for about 2 weeks and once they ended the countdown with it, then it was the first song played after the countdown and 20 minutes later they played it again.

I don’t like Bieber at all so my expectations are low. I’m intrigued nevertheless. It’ll be interesting to see if this straddles the line between Country and Pop or if they’ll lean more into Pop this time around.
Poo Bear is notorious for writing and producing multiple Pop and Rhythmic/Urban songs.

I have no doubt this will be HUGE, it just bums me out something terrible. These guys always rode the pop-country line pretty hard, but were still on the country side of it. Best of luck to them if this is really the direction they want to continue pursuing.

I am concerned about whether or not I'm gonna like this song or not. I love Dan + Shay, but not a fan of JB. I will wait until the song is released to see if I like it or not

I realllllly hope this gets some serious push back from radio. I can't even begin to describe how much i don't want to hear justin bieber on my local country radio stations.

Just curious...How do you know it won't be more country than half the stuff that's already being played...? I judge a song by the way it sounds...not by the name of the artist attached to it.

It’s not that radically different from their usual output, but feels a little sleepy compared to the previous three singles. I’m sure this will be massive because Bieber is on it, but substance wise this is a step down for them. So basically it could have been a lot worse, but also could have been much better.

It sounds like a Backstreet Boys song...but I’m fully expecting this to be a big hit for Dan + Shay. It sounds like something that’s a good extension of what they released to radio off their last album; that mid-tempo with upbeat tones that they seem to have found success in recently.
I’m not going to pretend to know all of Bieber’s pop material but I know of his backstory, like seemingly everyone, but I don’t think his name attached to this will hurt it at the country format. It’s certainly a pop song with slight country tones.

Honestly thought it would be a lot worse... But it's still not my cup of tea.

It's a Pop song. But it's a good Pop song. I'm a fan of both artists.

This is actually pretty good. Dan + Shay and Justin's voices work really well together. It feels more like an Adult Contemporary song with a hint of Country squeezed in. That said, I think this will probably do really well on AC and Hot AC. I have found Justin's music to be really hit or miss so I am glad this is in the former category and not the latter. I do appreciate that this is not a gimmicky of the moment sounding chasing trends sort of song.

I probably wouldn't turn it off if it came on but not all that interested in going back to it. Should be a crossover hit. I could see it going #1 AC.

Is it just me or is the worst Beibers voice has sounded in a long time?

A mid-tempo, late-90s soft rock/pop vibe is what I get from this. I genuinely could hear Backstreet Boys and 98-Degrees production and vocal styles on the track.

I only heard a clip but it was essentially a late 90s Backstreet Boys ballad to me. Crazy how a song like Show Me the meaning of being lonely qualifies as country now.

I really, really like this actually, color me surprised. I think it will be a big hit also - but I don't think it'll be as big as 'Tequila' or 'Speechless'.
I don't think they needed to collab with Bieber here though. Could have just co-wrote it with him and left it as a D+S song and it would have been just as successful.

Wow, this is fantastic!! I knew it would be despite all the pessimism in this thread, but I'm definitely glad to hear that it didn't push the country boundaries any farther than what they'd already been doing. Justin Bieber sounds great on this and was as perfect a male duet partner for D+S as they could've asked for. They're already on a big roll right now after their last era, but I can see this being even bigger than "Tequila." Love this.

I barely made it through. I wish they'd do more stuff like "Road Trippin'."

i knew i would hate this as a country song and i was right. just go to pop already and stay away from country. People are mentioning the backstreet boys above..yeah, thats about what it sounds like and pretty much the same level of country to it(which is not at all)

i wish they release Keeping Score with Kelly Clarkson, this is quite boring I agree. Not releasing “Keeping Score” was a missed opportunity as it was a big hit with fans. This should do well considering Dan + Shay’s current radio success, but just sucks that Justin Bieber is attached to this.
