I feel like I need to revisit this one. I enjoyed it, but I think I need to give it multiple listens to set in on me

It genuinely surprised me that it was this low for me, too. I expected to like this a lot more, but it never really clicked.

#28 started out mediocre, then spent a lot of time in the top 18 in the middle before slumping down the stretch. a #36 is 1 of 4 bottom 6s. 1 perfect ranking. Already almost half the rankdown loses a top 18, but a top 5 is the only top 10.

If I was surprised by how low I ranked "Screamager", I was shocked by how low I ranked "Hollywood Nights". I thought it was a lock for my top half, at the very worst.

With the exception of a couple songs (this being one of them), every song I've lost has been ranked in my 20s

3 bottom 6s go out at #27. In contrast, there are 3 top 10s and 3 top 15. This song entered the bottom 6 once early, before spending 12 of the last 14 movements between 25 and 27.

I must have the same feelings of nostalgia as you do, because I loved this.
Then again, I've always been at least a little partial to some damn good pop punk.

#26 used to be much, much higher than this. It reveals 6 bottom 6s and 1 perfect ranking, but also 5 top 18s and 4 top 5s.

#25 is the highest SD!!!! We lose a whopping 8 top 10s, 3 being top 5s (2 more top 18s). However, add 1 to that first number and you have the bottom 7 count, including 3 #36s. This made a valiant effort to stay in the top 20 for most of the rankdown, but never got back after the 7th-to-last list.

Sound the alarm for #24 and the first #1 loss of the rankdown! They were the only top 5, but there were still 4 other top 10s and 7 more top 18s. However, 6 bottom 6s weighed the song down, 2 being the first bottom 6 clearers. This song only spent 5 movements outside the top 20, and even got to the top 10 at one point

Running tally of bottom ten songs that I absolutely love: 4 This one, in particular, was painful, because I love The Hollies. This isn't quite my favorite of theirs, though.

36. The Day the World Turned Day-Glo - X-Ray SpexPost punk first time listen. This was very 80's. Something you's hear on KROQ(back when KROQ was cool). 35. Sex Beat - The Gun ClubI might have underranked it a bit. I really dug the melody the guitar was throwing. There were some way better song on the list. 34. The Zoo - ScorpionsOf course I'm losing a top 10 when Metal Scorpions take the stage. You have to lose yourself in that baseline to appreciate the is song even more. Plus you guys really should have seen this MV instead. It perfectly captures the mood of the jam. 33. Making Time - T he CreationI love first time listens that sound like the kind of music I would have been into back then so I upgrade them a lot. Songs like this one and Paul Revere and the Raiders are what I would have been into in the 60's. This kind of Fire appearing at the bottom of the list gets me ready for some boring ass music at the top of the RD. 32. Sonic Reducer - Dead BoysKilling off more punk fire. WTF are you all doing? 31. Vehicle - The Ides Of MarchThere is more to life than just the lyrics in music. Like for instance the musical composition. That brass section is sooooooo hot they had to wear oven mits while playing the song. That being said. I don't get what is so bad about the lyrics? . He is not singing about some underage kid. Not at all. That's what guys called hot chicks back then. There was even a song titled "Ooh Child" , "Hot Child In The City" etc.. He was obviously trying to entice one of those "hippi" chicks to ride with him. He probably had some party favors and photos of models he has made famous to lure them in. I think he was some sort of movie producer in the song? He also wanted to have some fun tho, right. Why waste a good pick up line. Anyway, Everyone was having fun back then. Chicks were jumping into cars all the time. Everyone is so uptight now a days, but back then these lyrics were hot. They kinda reminded me of the latest Ed Sheeran song "Blow". With the white lines in the limousine. I love that line. 30. For Your Love - The YardbirdsDamn another 60's wonder out too soon. Speaking of "Blow" this RD sorta blows so far. 29. Screamager - Therapy?I've heard this one before. I just couldn't remember where. had some strong Rise Against vibes. At least top 25 would have been fair. There were too many 24's , so I gave it a 23. 28. Hollywood Nights - Bob SegerThere are only two Bob Seger songs I really like. This one, and the one that had Tom Cruise jumping around the living room in Risky Business. 27. Not the Same - BodyjarFirst time listen sounded a lot like early Poppunk. Fast fierce and melodic. I usually put these in my top 20. Killer chorus too. 26. Clap Hands - Tom WaitsFinally. A song titled "Clap Hands" with out one single handclap. WTF was that about? The lyrics are an even bigger headscratcher, but at least this composition of bells is out. 25. Runaway - Del ShannonI believe there has to exist an RD with just songs from this era for this song to have a fighting chance. The musical composition here is extraordinary. This has instruments I can't even name, but the piano beats in back round are mesmerizing. 24. Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress) - The HolliesThis was always gonna be my #1 song the second I saw it was on the RD. This song is a classic. That intro fools you into believing you are about to listen to some early 60's Heavy Metal then presto you're back to Hollie's classic style. It's one of the most classic song intros ever. I can't believe this is out, but then again my #35 song is still here so I'm not surprised.

#23 spent a fair amount of time in the bottom 10, then surged into the top 20, but didn't have the gas to stay there. 3 people lose top 5s, 2 top 10s, and 6 top 18s. 6 people slapped this with a bottom 6.

You may have noticed I revealed to #24 yesterday, when I revealed to #23 on the first day of the last Random Rock. Part of the reason is, I was pressed for time. The other part, though, is that I was delaying what's going to be a rough patch for me :( This song is red-hot with satisfying emotional release 23

#22 is the 2nd lowest SD. It only has 2 top 10s, and the higher one is barely a top 5. 8 more top 18s. There are only 2 bottom 6s, neither being bottom 4, but 1 clears their bottom 6. 1 perfect ranking to hand out on this reveal. This song consistently hovered around the edge of top 20, never falling to bottom 10, and acheived the most top 18 time around the middle of the process.
