Is there an artist this decade that has multiple #1’s without any of their songs peaking at number 2? Right now I’m only thinking Cardi B with 3 number 1’s and 0 number 2 peaks. Is there someone that ties her or exceeds her with 4 number 1’s and 0 number 2 peaks? Adele has 4 number 1’s and no number 2 peaks. Also Bruno Mars has 7 number 1’s with no songs peaking at number 2.

^Update: Bruno Mars with 7 and zero #2 peaks. Ever. Damn he just always lands number 1 doesn’t he. Adele is 2nd with 4. Rihanna would have been in the lead with 9 if wild thoughts didn’t peak at #2 for 7 weeks 💀

Wow, shocked that Ellie Goulding’s “Lights” didn’t make the cut
Also, major props to Katy Perry for landing 4 songs in the Top 50 and 5 total. Damn

This is the first time a male artist tops the decade list? right?
1970s - "You Light Up My Life" - Debby Boone 1980s - "Physical" - Olivia Newton-John 1990s - "How Do I Live" - LeAnn Rimes 2000s - "We Belong Together" - Mariah Carey
I mean, there's no official '60s list (I think), I found one with 1958-1969 and "The Twist" is #1.

Even for just 1960-1969, The Twist would still be at #1.

The digital sales chart makes zero sense. Unless they'll be posting an actual list by digital song sales? They should have based these decade end charts by sales IMO Weren’t mega hits in the early part of the decade sell 7-9 million total?

From the top of my head, Radioactive, STIUTK, RITD, PRA all sold over 8 million, Cruise, Uptown Funk, We Found Love, Firework, Tik Tok, Thrift Shop, Call Me Maybe, Love The Way You Lie all sold over 7 million.

The problem with doing a digital song sales chart with real points is that the latter half of the decade will get way less representation due to sales withering in recent years.
This is equivalent to saying that songs such as Gangnam Style and Thrift Shop weren't that strong in streaming in 2013 since they had lower numbers than a typical #1 song in 2018/2019, or that Harlem Shake doesn't have the biggest week in streaming, and Old Town Road does.
The point of an inverse points system is to weigh each era equally, which won't be reflected using a real points system.

Slightly irrelevant, but idk where else to post this, but Drake has spent 476/520 weeks in the Top 10 this decade.
509/520 if we include SICKO MODE.

Jesus f**k I saw this went viral, but it isn't correct. In the top 10 of the Hot 100 this decade, Drake has spent just over 200 cumulative weeks. Now, maybe this stat is for the R&B/hip-hop charts, I don't know, but even with that, I doubt he has spent that much time in the top 10. Here's a fact though. Since Best I Ever Had, his first Hot 100 entry, debuted on the Hot 100, he's charted at least one song on the Hot 100 for 525 of the 547 weeks that have passed since then. He's also spent the most weeks charting on the Billboard 200 this decade: Take Care (350 weeks), Nothing Was the Same (311 weeks), If You're Reading This It's Too Late (197 weeks), Views (185 weeks), More Life (139 weeks), What a Time to Be Alive (96 weeks), Thank Me Later (93 weeks), Scorpion (72 weeks), Care Package (15 weeks), So Far Gone (6 weeks) and So Far Gone EP (originally released in September, 2009, but charted only 38 of it's 47 weeks this decade). That all adds up to 1,502 weeks cumulative weeks this decade.

Doubt it’s for the R&B / Hip Hop chart, since surely SICKO MODE has spent more than 33 weeks there in the Top 10.

I think what they did is added up his cumulative weeks top 10. So him having 2 songs top 10 in the same week would count as 2 weeks to that 476 number. Which is misleading

In 2011 and 2012, Drake only had like 3 top 10s, overall 6-7 weeks.

So, I was thinking. Since he have an idea of how many weeks artists have spent in the top 10 of the Hot 100 this decade, I was wondering if we could do the same for the Billboard 200.
I thought about suggesting we also do a list of how many weeks each artist has spent charting on the Hot 100 chart this decade, but that'll be a lot of stress for whoever decides to compile it. I was able to tally Drake's total weeks because from when Best I Ever Had debuted in May 23, 2009 till now, he's only been out of the Hot 100 for 25 weeks. Not everyone else has that same level of consistency. You could probably also do for Rihanna, Nicki and Lil Wayne, but that'll be it because they're the only other artists who have spent a considerable amount of time on the Hot 100.
I think it'll be cool if we could combine the cumulative weeks spent charting on the Billboard 200 this decade. An album counts as a single week. 10 albums counts as 10 weeks and so on. It's especially easy to do because on each artists' page, under their Billboard 200 activity, the total number of weeks spent charting on the Billboard 200 by each album is listed. Drake scored the most #1 albums this decad so it took a little while to calculate his, but other artists have only released 1-5 albums this decade, so theirs should be fairly easy.
I would have done it myself, I'm just feeling a bit under the weather now.
It's just a suggestion. I think we could come up with more decade-end lists than Billboard will reveal. Thanks, everyone!
