Only one song from the artist finishing at #52 was featured in the 80s year-end rankdowns. The person losing a top ten here has already lost another.

For real, though, why is "Walk the Dinosaur" still in? Is there REALLY that much support for it?

The song just missing the top half at #51 is actually tied in points with #50. (#69 & #68, #58 & #57, and #53 & #52 were also tied as well but I completely forgot about mentioning those until now.) We've ranked 3 other songs by this artist in the 80s Hot 100 rankdowns.

"Obsession" is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. I’m not sure how many band members those two songs have in common, the singers are both different ... but Obsession is one of my favorites of the decade & this was...shrug, merely fine

So one portion of my remaining bottom 50s I kind of expected (doesn't make me any less disgusted my 100 is still in)
But then Eddie Money, Wang Chung, Al/Annie, and Nu Shooz are alive and kicking too? What? Totally bizarre.

Wait I didn’t even realize songs like It’s A Sin, A Little Respect, Push It and The Rain were on here too. Those would have been in my top 5 or top 10 for sure with It’s A Sin at 1.

Wow I have a lot to catch up on... - Not surprised at the double elimination of KNOTB as I didn't really care for either of those songs, but ouch at it happening right off the bat!
- I suppose Pulse isn't a fan of Michael Bolton and instrumentals? Granted some of them can drag on and on, but there are some that don't. Maybe you have to be in the right mood?
- I don't even remember how "Love is Forever" goes, but "Love Zone" was one of quite a few songs that had a little bit of familiarity bias for me along with "Two Occasions", "I Live For Your Love", "You're Not Alone", "You Should Be Mine (The Woo Woo Song)", and "Just Because".
- Thank. God. that earsore known as "Wipeout" is gone. Sooo disgusting. I mean, why does it even exist? Same can be said for "Me So Horny" tbh. BTW, where's my #99?
- "Where Are You Now", "It Takes a Strong Strong Man", "Heartbeat", and "Superwoman" were utter struggles to get through.
- Aww! I loved the melodies of "I'd Still Say Yes" and "Who Do You Give Your Love To?"; the latter was one of my favorite discoveries.
- I just have one thing to say about "Stone Love", and I normally like Kool & the Gang's stuff.
- Ugh! "We're Ready", "Just Got Paid", and especially "I'll Be Alright Without You" deserved much better than they got!
- Nobody wants their heart jump started? Okay then...

#60. Giant Steps - Another LoverNice to see this one got a little bit of support. They one of those British one hit wonder sophistipop duos you would find in my 80's 45 collection. The lead singer's vocals reminded me a bit of Scritti Politti and the style Go West. #59 Just Got Paid - Johnny KempThis one deserved way better. It's all about the groove in the bass line. #58. You Know I Love You… Don't You? - Howard JonesI really enjoy Howard Jones music, but this one misses the bulls eye melodically. At least for it did. #57. I'll Be Alright Without You - JourneyA lesser known ,but still great Journey song doesn't perform well on this RD. How predictable. BTW this is a like fiercer version of "Foolish Heart". #56. Nobody's Fool - CinderellaThis is kinda my actual favorite Cinderella song. It had a real Heavy Metal ballad feel to it. I can't really rag on you all. It almost made the top half. I love the use of Pinks and Black in the music video. Very Glam, very cool. You all rag on Tom Keifer's vocals, but you fail to see the big picture. Even with his gruff ruff style he can still hit the high notes. Without the high notes the song loses all emotion. That it would be a shit song. #55. Talk to Me - Chico DeBargeThis was kind of a fun bop. You gotta love his hairstyle tho. #54. Stop to Love - Luther VandrossThe music here wasn't so bad, but Luther's vocals lack emotion. Red . Now it's my turn to say I would have liked this song better with a better vocalist. Say Jeffrey Osbourne or Billy Ocean. Shit Stevie B. would have been better. #53. Jump Start - Natalie ColeThe song still has flaws, but it is Eons better than the other song we saw appear earlier. #52. Room to Move - AnimotionThis was Animotion phase 2. Not even the same singers. It's decent, but only if you don't compare it to Animation phase 1. You want a good Animotion song? Go listen to "I Engineer", and not that radio edit, go full extended. #51. Every Little Kiss - Bruce Hornsby & The RangeI'm glad this is out. I never liked any songs from this band. Not even for elevator music.

"Obsession" is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. I’m not sure how many band members those two songs have in common, the singers are both different ... but Obsession is one of my favorites of the decade & this was...shrug, merely fine If you are really interested to know. None of the original founding members were present here. The vocalist were the guy from Device of ""Hanging on a Heart Attack", and the Cynthia Rhodes of all people. You can see her in the video. Remember her from "Fame"? She was also in "Dirty Dancing" Pretty girl, but these two had none of the vocal magic and sounded like a typical corporate pop band. That winning formation unsurprisingly brought on the end of Animotion until the 2000's when Astrid and Bill returned. Tho I haven't heard of any new material from them. here is another epic classic from Animotion phase 2 you may or may not have heard. Consider yourself lucky if you haven't til now.

Back to the old way, I see.
#50: Figured this wouldn't be long for this rankdown. I'm going to shut up now, lest I say something that'll get me into trouble. I will say this, though: First top 30/25 loss in the top half? Given some of the songs that I ranked that high, I'll take that. #49: This is goofy, and not in a good way. I hated this song back when it was featured in movie trailers for movies that have dinosaurs in them, and I can't say my opinion of the song has changed all that much in two decades. #48: The right one's out first, I guess. #47: Knew this was coming, too. The magic of "Pop Goes the World" is that it's this cutesy sounding song that actually has a bit of a dark side to it. "The Safety Dance" is more memorable and an easier listen, but "Pop" has its charms. #46: Van Roth >>>>>>>>>>>> Van Hagar

Finishing at #45 is a song that was featured on a movie soundtrack. It's by an artist that hasn't been in any other 80s rankdowns.

This isn't the first time we've ranked a song by the artist at #44 in the Lost Hits rankdowns. This is their best performance in these rankdowns though. Somebody loses their first top ten here.
