Who else is there to blame??? I don't know, maybe the guy who ranked it dead last? Like, sure, my ranking bumped "This Kiss" down but I'm pretty sure ( bboat11 correct me if I'm wrong) that if recordyear and the others who ranked it lower than I did didn't do that, it would have likely placed top 15 even with my rank. And let's not pretend that 37 is a tanking rank, especially when y'all are talking about how amazing this list is and how you basically adore 99% of it lol.

I don't have time to comment on everything, but I do want to say that I am overall pleased with how George performed in this RD, considering what happened the last time. Also, this top 10 is pretty amazing. I basically love all the songs in it.

Most Faith Hill songs stick out like a sore thumb to me. Probably the more talentless country women from 90s and is responsible for the Adult Contemporary trend in country music which I dislike. Also whenever she sang the title in This Kiss it is pitchy af.

Another proven rankdown entity is Brooks & Dunn's classic "She's Not The Cheatin' Kind"! This is a song that has frequently finished at #2, but then finally got its revenge; but not through the Revenge of the Best rankdown!!! This song finished at #2 in their singles rankdown behind "Neon Moon", and then it finished at #2 in Cody's Country Groups rankdown behind The Wreckers' "Leave The Pieces". When it placed in the most recent Revenge of the Best rankdown, it snuck its way into the top 10 for a #9 finish, but was not able to sneak ahead of the rest of the top 10. This song finally got its ultimate revenge thanks to those who tanked Martina in the 1994 Country rankdown!!! It won a year-end rankdown, which is quite a lofty accomplishment, so congratulations to Brooks & Dunn for their unexpected win! It is always nice to see a perennial #2 finisher finally get its time in the spotlight :)
Bonus: "She's Not The Cheatin' Kind" - Brooks & Dunn

We've still got three more bonuses to get through, so I'm gonna do another one before diving into the top 10! Jo Dee Messina is an artist who has seen a LOT of success in rankdowns, but unfortunately now that her album series has ended and she hasn't been in any of the recent year-end rankdowns, her time in the spotlight seems to have ended. However, she did have one song win a rankdown relatively recently!!! This is one of the most powerful rankdown songs of all time! It slayed her singles rankdown, it slayed the 1998 Country year-end rankdown, and it slayed its album rankdown. The only time it did not slay was in the first BotB rankdown, where it managed to get stuck at #6 (probably because people were kinda tired of it winning every rankdown... Lol) This song got yet another chance, however, when castleoblivion26 put a nice little cherry on top of the Jo Dee Messina series by doing a rankdown of her songs that have finished at #1 in a rankdown! As expected based on its previous rankdown performances, this song once again dominated. Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to "I'm Alright"!!!
Bonus: "I'm Alright" - Jo Dee Messina

Pam Tillis got no bottom 15 ranks for "Shake The Sugar Tree", but also got no top 5s. That helped it to be one of the least-polarizing songs in this rankdown, and allowed it to be a top 10 contender for the majority of the submission process. Somehow LBTrocks ' #15 rank is what pushed it out of the top 10 Of course, the tea I didn't mention is that LBTrocks is the one who knocked his OWN #15 out of the top 10!!!! What a mess!!! He caused a tie between these two songs, and his #2 rank of "Bubba" is what put that one ahead.

"Bubba Shot The Jukebox" was actually the very first rankdown winner of this set!! (Hence its position as the first song on the playlist). I wasn't terribly sold on this song when it first won, because "It's A Little Too Late" deserved, but frankly it has been growing on me a lot as time has passed since I have been listening to it a lot since it won. This is a perfect example of why I love rankdowns so much; I learn more about artists that I don't know a lot about, and discover jams that I have unfortunately been missing out on for way too long!
I am still a tad shocked to see this song in the top 10, because it beat out a lot of truly iconic stuff to get there, but I am always here for a surprise success for an artist who doesn't usually have that happen to them!

"Ocean Front Property" is one of the most iconic songs of the '80s, and I am very happy to see George get a top 10 finisher here! This song was a top 5 contender for much of the middle of the submissions, but ultimately was unable to hang on. Its top 10 standing was never really in jeopardy though!

After a bit of a rough start, "Timber" jumped into the top 10 around the halfway point in submissions, and never looked back!!! This song is insanely catchy I am so pleased to see Patty in the top 10 here! I know this is one of her more popular early songs, but still, seeing her early songs do so well is pretty cool. I am eager to see how her later songs do as we get deeper into her album series!!!

I was hoping "Timber, I'm Falling In Love" could make the Top 5, I just love that song so much. Also happy to see "Bubba Shot The Jukebox" do so well!
Also we need an excuse to rank "I'm Alright" to #1 again just so you can feature it again next time lol
oh and lastly, can "Backseat of a Greyhound Bus" please leave. I'll be disappointed to see that one win. It isn't a terrible song by any means and I don't hate it but I don't love it either. It is easily the weakest song remaining imo

Well, it's not the Sara song castleoblivion26 was hoping for, but we do indeed say goodbye to a Sara Evans song next! "No Place That Far" was her first #1 hit, creating the foundation upon which she could build the rest of her highly successful career. Featuring Vince Gill on background vocals, this song just sounds so beautiful, and really shows off what a powerful vocalist Sara can be. This song is actually one of those incredibly rare songs that wins its first rankdown, and then immediately becomes a MULTI rankdown winner with the next rankdown that finishes!!!!! It won the 1999 Country rankdown, which was its first ever victory, and then it followed it up with a huge victory in its album rankdown, which was the next rankdown that finished. The only other songs that have done this before are Jo Dee's "I'm Alright" (which won Jo Dee's singles rankdown and the 1998 rankdown back to back), and Gary Allan's "Right Where I Need To Be" (which won Castle's Favorite Male Artists rankdown followed immediately by Gary's singles rankdown).

Oop! That's 2 in a row for Sara Evans! This time her loss is "Backseat Of A Greyhound Bus", a song that many of you predicted to actually have a good chance of winning this thing... Alas, this song did do VERY well, hanging out in the top 5 for the majority of the submission process, although it was never actually a contender to win. Somehow LBTrocks managed to bump it back out of the top 5 with a #20 rank, which is just crazy, and shows how close some of these results at the cusp of the top 5 were!!! How close were they? "Backseat Of A Greyhound Bus" only misses out on the top 5 because it lost a tie. But it has a #1 rank! That's right, the next song to leave us has MULTIPLE #1 ranks, and was able to win the tie that way ;)

I'm guessing my #1 is gonna be out next at #5, which is a bit of a bummer but I'm happy it at least made it to the Top 5. Am hoping to be surprised.
I will say I think this is Sara Evans' rankdown to lose. I think she has this in the bag with "Born To Fly". It is not in my top 10 but I wouldn't be upset to see it win. I'm rooting for Pam, Martina, and Lee Ann the most so if one of those 3 could surprise us all and win that would be awesome!

This next bonus song is an album track that came in at #2 in Martina McBride's Emotion album rankdown!! It was well-loved enough to sneak ahead of 3 of the album's 4 singles, including the biggest hit of her career, "I Love You". It lost to "Love's The Only House". However, that #2 finish was enough to get it into the previous Revenge of the Best rankdown! However, it flopped pretty hard in that rankdown finishing at #37... It had a HUGE redemption moment, however, when Martina's album tracks rankdown happened and this managed to pull off a WIN!!!!! I would have loved to let it compete here, but unfortunately I had to stick with the rules and keep it out of this rankdown since it had already been in RotB. Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the Pulse-certified best album track of Martina's illustrious career
Bonus: "Make Me Believe" - Martina McBride

Our final bonus song is a song that has also found its way into the #2s rankdown previously, preventing it from being featured here. "A Little Past Little Rock" managed to finish at #2 in Lee Ann's singles rankdown, which put it into the second RotB rankdown. In RotB, it managed to pull off the ultimate shame of failing its revenge, and getting stuck at #2 once again!!! The song would later get its revenge, however, when it won its album rankdown a couple months ago. That victory was unexpected, because it seemed to be stuck in a similar position to Jo Dee's "Bye Bye"; worthy of winning, but constantly stuck behind another hit from the same album that seemed to be more loved. The "I'm Alright" to its "Bye Bye" was "I'll Think Of A Reason Later", which beat it to win Lee Ann's singles rankdown, and has also placed higher just about every time they have appeared together. When the album rankdown happened, however, "A Little Past Little Rock" was able to sneak ahead, thereby securing itself a place in the hall of rankdown winners!!!!
Bonus: "A Little Past Little Rock" - Lee Ann Womack
Finished at #1 in the: Lee Ann Womack: Some Things I Know album rankdown (Host: castleoblivion26)
