also in case you missed it: I formatted the list without periods for a reason, and when you number your list with a period at the end while also adding periods at the end of every featuring credit like crap did, this happens when I try to separate the numbers the way I normally do: it's still a small inconvenience, but I'd rather it not happen at all please Guess I'll post the other one, too, because I think it bears repeating:

I don't think I've ever heard a song that wasted its potential as much as Someone To Call My Lover. The acoustic guitar lick is sweet and Janet has a great voice, but that damn beeping sound singlehandedly tanks the song.

I'm halfway through the Year-End list, and it's been a pretty boring year so far. Even a lot of the songs I've liked have been pretty lame. Fortunately, there are some real gems in the bottom half of the list, so I've got something to look forward to.

I'm done with the Year-End list, and 2001 was... a year. The 92 songs that debuted on the 2001 Year-End list (don't worry, I listened to the other eight songs as well) got a cumulative score of 60.9%, using the standard 0-5 grading scale that many YouTube reviewers use. Of the four Year-End lists I've listened to thus far, 2001 ranks above 2019 (58.4%) and 2014 (58.6%), but below 2010 (61.6%). I'll have the full ranking of all 100 songs done within the next few days... I can't use a preference revealer because I don't remember how a good half of the songs on the list went.

I’ll definitely do this one. I’m trying to pinpoint a definite 100, probably one of the multiple country songs or Follow Me. This is one of those years where the top 40 is gold but the rest of it is just not that great.

This is also one of those years that was 10 times better in the UK. A lot of this list is so dreary and depressingly boring, sappy, sickly sweet, slow and just awful.

one week left! I finally finished my list, so I'll be finally entering the lists now. so if you get a pm all of a sudden, that's probably me confirming that I've entered your list. that being said we only have nine lists now, so there's a good chance I'll end up extending.

Guess I'll post the other one, too, because I think it bears repeating: MULTIPLE people have sent to just lyhom. (Don't worry, Max, you're not alone.)
Guys, it's not hard to also send to me, too.

Just submitted my ranking for this! My music and radio charts journey actually began in 2001 when I listened to American Top 40 on my local pop radio station. In fact, my #1 here may very well be the first song that I ever truly loved and I still regard it highly to this day. I continued to follow the pop charts until 2007 whereupon I decided to stick with the rock formats exclusively. This was quite a nostalgia trip for me though since I hadn't heard most of these songs for well over 10 years, but for the most part, I ended up enjoying this list much more than I thought I would.

now that I have a tenth list, I think it's time for a ballot update!
the first ten lists are from me, Red, Willow Rinadoobee Breakfast, weaver, singingrulebritannia, Devil Marlena Nylund, @trilogy, jtd Thee Stallion, @gabingston, and rowellfarm490.
points: the current #1 is fairly well ahead, being 57 points above the current #2. #3 and #4 are also less than a full ranking behind the #1, so it's still anyone's game.
the current #100 is further behind the current #99 than #1 is ahead of #2, although it isn't by much as it's only 63 points behind. however, #98 is 100 points ahead of #99, so the bottom two will need a lot to get them higher.
SDs: the two lowest SDs are at the opposite ends of the rankdown, with #100 being the lowest SD by far, while the #1 is the second lowest. the third lowest SD is a bit higher in the bottom ten, at #91.
the highest SD, meanwhile, is right in the middle at #50. the other two highest SDs are both in the bottom 20, the second highest is at #85, the third highest is at #83.
highs: 44 songs so far have at least one top ten ranking, but we still have five songs with no top half rankings whatsoever. this includes two songs with no top 60s, and one more song that's gotten nothing but bottom tens.
movements: six songs have spent every list in the top ten so far (the top four, as well as #6 and #7), and another six songs have spent every list in the bottom ten (the bottom three, #96, #95, and #94).
four songs have spent time at #1, and two songs have spent time at #100.
...I think I'm hearing something...
ties: only four ties (all of them being two way ties) so far, at #25, #31, #62, and #73.
I may as well remind people that there are five days left!

I think this needs some repeating:
but seriously, disco is the fourth person out of nine to only send to me, despite the instructions specifically saying not to. stop doing this shit.

I finished my rankings, and I'll finalize my list for sending by Friday. I agree with Red - this list did end up being better than I expected, though I just personally find it less memorable, and had more songs I dislike. Overall, still a solid year this was.

I had to listen to all 100 songs a second time because there were just so many of them that went in one ear and out the other (I'm talking to you, dozens of mediocre R&B songs).
