I don’t believe we have a thread for Eternal Atake yet. One of the most anticipated albums of the year. Discuss.

Great tracks, great production, and great transitions. I honestly think this is one of the best projects Uzi has done, and the wait was definitely worth it. I'm mostly bummed that some of the snippets he posted weren't on this album tho, hopefully they make the deluxe cut. I'll probably get to ranking the tracks after a couple more listens, but rn I'm loving Baby Pluto, I'm Sorry, P2 and Bust Me the most.

Only halfway through the album currently but I'm already in love. The beats are killer, love how he sampled Travis's Way Back and the goddamn Pinball game lmao, childhood complete

Eternal Atake is a 7/10 which means in terms of trap, it's a 9/10 or a 10/10. And in terms of mainstream albums I've heard so far this year - mainstream in terms of impacting the charts - this might be my favorite so far, I wouldn't mind if this sticks around.Q
Also Baby Pluto is the weakest part since it isn't as cohesive as Renji or Lil Uzi Vert but it has best bangers. Renji definitely has the best production.
Eternal Atake [Lil Uzi Vert]: Baby Pluto, Silly Watch, You Better Move, I’m Sorry, Prices, P2 (7/10). Worst: Homecoming
Can't wait to trigger old heads by saying Lil Uzi Vert made a better album than Eminem.

ok, i finally listened to this enough times to form a proper opinion, and it's so much better than it was before. i think the concept of the album was to showcase uzi's evolution as an artist. the beginning of the album shows luv is rage era uzi, more so focusing on his rapping skill as opposed to melodies. but after homecoming, the sound becomes much more focused on melodies, and this pretty much marks 2016 uzi. finally, the latter quarter of the album marks luv is rage 2 era uzi (though idt it's that much different). i've saw posts on twitter that the space theme is a metaphor for how uzi is "blasting off into a new era". tho i think that's a reach, since i just think that's supposed to vibe of the album.
that being said, here's a quick review:
1. Baby Pluto: I don't think I could have asked for a better track to open this album, it sets the tone perfectly, and I was so hyped when I heard this. Very spacey production, going with the theme of the album, and Uzi switches up his delivery, whilst also providing melodies. This definitely reminds me of Luv Is Rage era Uzi. If any track is going to get big, it's probably this one. Quite a rememberable hook too, imo.
2. Lo Mein: Similar to Baby Pluto in terms of alternating with melody/rapping, but this is heavily focused on rapping. Again, reminds me a lot of Luv Is Rage Uzi, but I enjoyed this a lot less than Baby Pluto. Still a damn solid track, I just think the production could probably have been better
3. Silly Watch: This track is great, and shows Uzi isn't just a "mumble rapper" and can spit/flow if he tries to. The flow heavily reminds me of the flow on "FREE UZI". Very infectious production too, again showing is Luv Is Rage Uzi.
4. POP: This track is weird, I think this track had potential to be better with better production. Quite catchy, but nothing outstanding and, I don't feel like it fits the vibe of the album outside of maybe the production (feels like the "takeoff" phase?). One of the worse tracks on the album, it sort of feels all over the place and quite messy.
5. You Better Move: Yeah, I don't really like this one. His delivery in the hook is quite annoying, and although the arcade game type production is quite cool, it gets quite annoying. Verses are alright, but that's it.
6. Homecoming: Not sure how I feel about this one, but it's pretty average (compared to some of the other tracks on the album, I didn't mind the track itself as all). Nothing really pops out when compared to the other tracks, not in a bad way, but this seems like the final song of "LIR Uzi".
7. I'm Sorry: Now this is where the Uzi I love comes in. Infectious hook, infectious production and great delivery. Great track.
8. Celebration Station: See above, I love this.
9. Bigger Than Life: See above.
10. Chrome Heart Tags: A good song, and good production by Chief Keef, but I feel like it could have been executed better. The hooks alright, but I feel like he could have done more work with the verses. Still by no means a bad track.
11. Bust Me: See I'm Sorry
12. Prices: Loving the Travis Scott sample, but not much to say about this one either. See Bust Me
13. Urgency: This track felt incredibly mid. Syd doesn't add much and Uzi could have been better. Not awful, but not great either
14. Venetia: See I'm Sorry
15. Secure The Bag: See I'm Sorry
16. P2: This is a great album closer, and marks the end of his "LIR 2 Era" (hence the continuation of his most successful song from that era), and metaphorically marking his "landing".
17. Futsal Shuffle 2020: The beginning of "new era Uzi". The production is still spacey, but also very different to the rest of the album and his past stuff.
18. That Way: Interesting sample, but executed well. See I'm Sorry
Ranking:
1. Baby Pluto (10/10) 2. Celebration Station (9/10) 4. Bust Me (9/10) 5. I'm Sorry (9/10) 6. P2 (9/10) 7. Futsal Shuffle 2020 (9/10) 8. Prices (9/10) 9. Bigger Than Life (8/10) 10. Silly Watch (8/10) 11. Chrome Heart Tags (8/10) 12. Venetia (8/10) 13. Secure The Bag (8/10) 14. That Way (8/10) 15. Lo Mein (8/10) 16. POP (6/10) 17. Urgency (6/10) 18. You Better Move (6/10)

All 32 songs from Eternal Atake have charted if you include the deluxe version, which is the most for a single album.

I'm not usually a huge fan of this type of music, but this album is fire.
