A LEGENDARY START Juice WRLD's Legends Never Die (Grade A/Interscope) is headed for a massive first week. After one day of sales and streams, the posthumous release is tracking toward an opening of 400-440k in total activity, with projected on-demand audio streams expected to reach over 400 million, enough to give Legends the biggest single week streaming total of any album so far this year. Lil Uzi Vert's Eternal Atake currently holds that distinction with 376 million. If Legends hits the high end of its projection, it will be just behind The Weeknd's 444k total for After Hours (XO/Republic), which to date is the year's biggest first week. Expect team Interscope to pull out all the stops to push Legends over that hump. Juice WRLD (Grade A/Interscope) 400-440k total activity, 110-125k albums Summer Walker (LVRN/Interscope) 33-38k, 3-5k

Very good sales and like I said in the Spotify thread, pretty surprising considering none of the singles have made a proper impact.

Someone said in the last HITS thread that he was upping his estimate to 400k because Pop Smoke did so well.

Will this be the first time a posthumous album replaces a posthumous album at #1?

Close enough.
Anthology 3 - The Beatles - 16 Nov 1996 (1/4th posthumous)
The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory - Makaveli (2pac) - 23 Nov 1996

DJScheme also implied their pushing for #1 on the hot 100 as well. Significant pushes are coming.

UPDATE: We can project today that Juice WRLD’s Legends Never Die (Grade A/Interscope) will unseat The Weeknd’s After Hours (XO/Republic) for the biggest debut of the year. Legends is currently projecting to a range of 450-470k in total activity. A strong D2C showing will contribute to an album total of 140k or more. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=322239&title=A-LEGENDARY-START-%28UPDATE%29

YOUR TOP 20 IS LEGENDARY Juice WRLD's Legends Never Die (Grade A/Interscope) will open with the largest first week of the year and will become one of the biggest ever posthumous debuts during the modern chart era. The album is currently tracking into fourth place on that list behind Notorious B.I.G.'s Life After Death (609k), 2Pac's R U Still Down (548k), and Biggie's Born Again (485k). Will a last minute push see Legends creep over Born Again and into third place? Can Legends hit 500k. Watch this space. BTS' Map of the Soul: 7 ~ The Journey (UMe) dropped today. The midweek digital-only release is the act's fourth Japanese language studio album. Their previous Japanese language release, Face Yourself, opened with 12k in 2018. Will the band's rise in popularity since then result in a much higher debut? *Juice WRLD (Grade A/Interscope) 460-480k total activity, 155-175k albums Pop Smoke (Victor Victor/Republic) 90-100k, 3-5k Hamilton (Uptown/Atlantic) 90-100k, 23-26k Lil Baby (Quality Control/Motown/Capitol) 55-60k, <1k Post Malone (Republic) 30-35k, 2-3k DaBaby (SCMG/Interscope) 30-35k, <1k *Summer Walker (LVRN/Interscope) 30-35k, 3-4k Harry Styles (Columbia) 27-30k, 3-5k The Weeknd (XO/Republic) 25-28k, 2-3k Polo G (Columbia) 25-28k, <1k Lil Uzi Vert (Generation Now/Atlantic) 24-27k, <1k Drake (OVO/Republic) 24-27k, <1k Lil Durk (Alamo/Geffen/Interscope) 22-25k, <1k Rod Wave (Alamo/Geffen/Interscope) 22-25k, <1k Future (Freebandz/Epic) 22-25k, <1k Juice WRLD - Goodbye & Good Riddance (Grade A/Interscope) 22-25k, ~1k Roddy Ricch (Bird Vision/Atlantic) 21-24k, <1k Bad Bunny (Rimas) 21-24k, <1k Gunna (Young Stoner Life) 21-24k, <1k Luke Combs (River House/Columbia Nashville) 20-23k, 2-3k Debuts *

Summer Walker representing the females in the top 20 projections.
Hip-hop is insanely dominant at the moment.

WOW at Hamilton being completely even as last week essentially. It was released on Disney+ during Friday last week, so it had a whole week of boosting already, not like it was released mid-week.
FYI, according to HITS the Hamilton album was already at 417k SPS for 2020 prior to last week. With last week and this week it'll blow past 600k. It'll probably end the year past a million, and atleast in the top 15 albums of the year...

Assuming the BTS Army mobilizes as they normally do, their album should manage to debut in the top 5. Whether it has enough time to be #2 remains to be seen.

They forgot to mention 2Pac’s posthumously released album “The Don Killuminati” with 664K first week.

I’m more impressed at Juice WRLD’s ‘pure sales’.
Does the album have bundles, or is this just purely Digital?
Either way... STUNNING! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Hopefully he gets at least 2-3 weeks at #1 on the BB200.
